CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, has died at the age of 71 following a reported cardiac arrest, and while tributes pour in for the WWE icon, a battle over his estimated $25 million estate could be brewing.

Hogan died on Thursday, July 24, at his Clearwater, Florida, home. Despite ongoing denials about recent health rumors, emergency services responded to the residence early that morning, where medics reportedly carried him out on a stretcher.

As the dust settles on his sudden death, confusion and potential conflict surround the distribution of his vast estate, including luxury properties, business ventures, and multiple trusts.

Sky Daily to receive 30% of Hulk Hogan’s estate share

Despite being married for just two years, Hogan’s third wife, Sky Daily Hogan, is entitled to at least 30% of his estate under Florida's spousal elective share law, regardless of the content of his will or trust documents, reported RadarOnline.com.

According to June Frederiksen, estate expert and paralegal at Schofner Law Firm, Hulk “likely had very in-depth estate planning,” including both revocable and personal trusts, set up to manage and protect his wealth.

“You set up a trust to protect your assets, so you run everything through the trust,” Frederiksen explained.

The goal, she noted, is often to avoid probate court and ensure assets are shielded from potential creditors. But the process isn’t always airtight.

While Hogan’s trust structures were likely in place, Frederiksen warned that if they were not updated after his marriage to Sky, or if she was excluded, the state law still guarantees her a sizable portion.

“Even if she was left out of the estate and he didn't update the trust since they married, she would still get a spousal elective share,” she said.

Hulk Hogan's estranged daughter Brooke may challenge will

Additionally, not all assets may have been safely placed within the trusts. Hogan owned several high-value assets, including an $11.5 million mansion in Clearwater, Hogan’s Beach Shop, Hogan’s Hangout restaurant, and most recently, a stake in Real American Beer.

If any of these holdings were left outside the trust, or if the trusts themselves are contested, Frederiksen warned the estate could end up in probate, putting the assets at risk of creditor claims and public legal battles.

“If someone contests what is directed in the trusts, there may not be a way to avoid estate court,” she said.

Complicating matters further is Hogan’s strained relationship with his daughter, Brooke Hogan, who had been estranged from her father for years. He reportedly never met her twin children, Oliver and Molly Gene, born earlier this year.

If Brooke has been excluded from the estate, Frederiksen noted that she may have grounds to challenge the will, especially if the documents predate major life changes.

“If someone is excluded like a child or spouse, they may be able to contest it,” said Frederiksen, who warned that any such action would send the estate into probate court.

Hulk Hogan’s wife shares emotional tribute

News of Hogan’s death came just weeks after online speculation suggested the wrestling icon was on his "deathbed" following neck surgery.

On July 7, radio host Bubba the Love Sponge claimed Hogan was “not in any condition to be in the public eye” and unable to speak due to trachea damage. That same day, Sky Daily refuted the rumors, stating that her husband was recovering from a major four-level ACDF spinal surgery.

Sky posted an emotional tribute on Instagram following her husband's death, writing, "I wasn’t ready for this… and my heart is in pieces.".

She further wrote, "He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them. I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had more time.

This loss is sudden and impossible to process. To the world, he was a legend… but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart."

Hulk Hogan: Wrestling Icon and pop legend

Born Terry Gene Bollea in 1953, Hogan helped launch wrestling into mainstream culture, becoming a pop culture icon with his 24-inch biceps, towering frame, and unforgettable charisma.

He was a two-time WWE Hall of Fame inductee, first in 2005 by Sylvester Stallone, and again in 2020 as part of the legendary nWo faction.

“Hulk Hogan is to pro wrestling what Babe Ruth was to baseball,” Sports Illustrated wrote in 2025. “Hogan pushed the industry to new levels and created the multi-billion-dollar business it is today.”

Beyond the ring, Hogan acted in 15 films, beginning with 'Rocky III' in 1982, and was a fixture in the American entertainment landscape for decades. Reflecting on his career in 2014, Hogan once told WWE, “The character of Hulk Hogan is impeccable… [it] made me a much better person."
