PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: During a press conference on Friday evening, former President Donald Trump criticized President Joe Biden and suggested that his policies could lead to a “world war.”

The 77-year-old MAGA figurehead had a meeting with Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson at Mar-a-Lago prior to the press conference, according to DailyMail.

Trump, who is considered the presumptive GOP nominee for the 2024 presidential race, stated that Iran would not be attacking Israel had he still been in office, branding President Joe Biden as "pretty pathetic."

What prompted Trump to attack President Biden on Friday?

A reporter at the press conference inquired whether Trump had been in contact with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding US warnings of a potential strike by Iran.

The former POTUS refused to say whether he had spoken with Netanyahu, saying, "But for the president of our country to actually put out a warning that he thinks that we're going to be attacked or they're going to be attacked. That's pretty pathetic.”

“They wouldn't be attacking Israel if I were president, that I can tell you. And they never did,” Trump remarked.

“They wouldn't be attacking. Iran was in no position to attack. They had no money. They were broke,” he claimed.

In addition to Iraq, he said, Iran has gathered $221 billion — a figure which the former president has mentioned previously, though it is unclear where it came from — to sow discord in the Middle East.

“With all that we've done, with all of the fighting, all of the death, look at what happened. How incompetent the whole thing is,” Trump continued. “I don't want to say who I spoke to but I think it's a very, very dangerous period.”

“This is a very dangerous period of time in our nation and a big reason that it's dangerous is because we have a president that's grossly incompetent,” he added.

What more did Donald Trump divulge in his Friday evening press conference?

Former President Trump talked about how he believed the world's problems could get out of hand earlier in his press conference alongside House GOP speaker Mike Johnson.

“You could end up in a world war between Russia and Ukraine and all of the chaos and that's something that should have never happened, that would have never happened. What's going on with Israel, October 7 and what's going on with Israel could end up in a world war,” Trump posited.

“We have a president that can't put two sentences together,” he said, criticizing Joe Biden, the 81-year-old Democratic incumbent.

He further added, “We have a president who can't find the stairs off the stage. We have a president who doesn't know what the hell he's doing. And we could end up in a world war.”

“You know, we have just a little bit less than seven months now, months before November 5, but that's an eternity when people are incompetent,” the 77-year-old remarked.

It has been observed that over the past few months, former President Donald Trump has maintained that his political adversary, President Joe Biden, could initiate a global conflict of the scale of World War 3.

However, recent polling data suggests that his handling of foreign policy is one of his weakest attributes. According to an AP-NORC poll, 47% of Americans believe that Trump has negatively impacted the foreign relations of the United States.

In the Middle East, Israel is currently preparing for a potential attack from Iran. On April 1, a building next to the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria, was attacked, killing several members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. The US embassy in Jerusalem has issued a warning to diplomats in Israel, prohibiting travel without explicitly mentioning Iran.

Internet slams Trump for calling President Biden 'pretty pathetic'

People on X blasted the former Commander-in-Chief as he chided President Joe Biden for US warnings to diplomats that Iran was about to strike Israel and for claiming that the entire ordeal wouldn't be taking place had he remained in office.

One X user remarked, "The only person he talks to is himself!"

Another user asked, "So is Trump implying he *wouldn't* warn the US or its allies if they were about to be attacked?"

Another user wrote, "Which means he hasn’t spoken to anyone."

One user claimed, "Lies, upon lies, upon lies….."

Another X user said, "So Trump *wouldn't* warn an ally of a possible attack if intelligence suspects one? Well, that's lovely."

Finally, this user tweeted, "But what does trump know? Nothing. And why would a reporter ask him that? He is not the president. I don’t care one ounce what he thinks about anything. Oh the press does though."
