ORLANDO, FLORIDA: Rapper Kodak Black allegedly launched an attack on a Florida news crew with rocks, moments after his release from jail on Wednesday.

The rapper, who was seeing the outside world for the first time in two months, didn't stop at just hurling stones; he is also accused of threatening to punch a reporter, per WPLG Local 10.

What did Kodak Black do?

Rapper Kodak Black, real name Bill Kapri, was released from Broward County Jail after admitting to probation violation.

After his release, he encountered a news crew from WPLG Local 10. Kodak was seen hurling rocks at photojournalist Bryan Murphy and allegedly threatened to punch reporter Rosh Lowe.

Despite the threats, he claimed he was merely "hibernating" and "chilling," expressing no concern about the crew as his son was due to be born in less than 48 hours.

When confronted by Lowe about the threat, Kodak confirmed it nonchalantly. He was then seen entering a black SUV and leaving the jail premises. Fortunately, Murphy, who was struck in the ribs by a rock, did not sustain any injuries.

The rapper landed in hot water with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, leading to a filed police report against him.

This development follows Miami US District Judge Jose E Martinez dropping a drug possession charge against him nearly two weeks ago.

The rapper had agreed to a plea deal for failing to report police contact after his arrest on December 7, 2023. He was found unconscious by the Florida Highway Patrol in a black Bentley SUV blocking a roadway.

Upon discovery, officers detected a strong smell of cannabis emanating from inside the vehicle. They found the rapper, renowned for his hit 'ZEZE,' asleep at the wheel. During the arrest, authorities discovered a white powder on him, which initially tested positive for cocaine.

However, subsequent lab tests revealed the substance to be oxycodone, for which he had a prescription dated July 2022. Additionally, he was cited with a traffic violation for obstructing the road, according to the New York Post.

This arrest constituted a violation of his probation from a separate case, resulting in his incarceration in Miami in early December. The rapper was released on Wednesday afternoon, with the judge crediting him for time served.
