Internet slams Mama June as she spars with Lauryn 'Pumpkin' over sending Honey Boo Boo to college

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Mama June' Shannon and Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird reportedly had a heated argument over Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson’s plan to shift to Colorado for further studies.

PEOPLE citing a new episode of ‘Mama June: Family Crisis’ reported that Lauryn called Mama June to talk about Alana’s future as the 24-year-old said, “I called to tell you that me and Josh decided that we're gonna go ahead and take Alana to Colorado.”

But the 44-year-old matriarch mentioned, referring to her youngest daughter, “She really needs to do something about getting her s*** together.”

To which, Lauryn said, “I know, mama. So the main thing I need you to do is call and check about that Coogan account,” referring to the account where some percentage of the child actor’s income is kept until they reach adulthood.

She continued, “You're not forking any money out and her payments for college are due very soon,” before she questioned, “So, I mean [you’ll] still [do] nothing like even if we found her house and go to the college and stuff, you're not gonna help pay for anything?”

But the TV personality wasn't moved as she stated, “If she [Alana] can’t invest in her own self, then why should I? What money are you and Josh willing to put up?”

The 24-year-old daughter of Mama June then remarked, “I'm not her mom,” as her mother asserted, “But you said that you were mom, and you've raised her and all that, so don't even try that s**t.”

Lauryn, however, did not reportedly back off as she told her mother, “The point is you're not willing to help at all, and it does make Alana think that you don't believe in her.”

She stated, “I mean, do you say we just had the money to up and fly to Colorado? We're doing that because we believe in her. That's what a mother does.”

But Mama June added, “I understand that but I can also kind of voice my concerns too as her mother.”

Later, in the episode, it was shown that Lauryn expressed her anger toward her mother in front of her husband, Joshua Efird.

She told him, “Mama has the audacity to be like, ‘Well, y'all just want to ask me for the money for college or for the first semester and stuff, and I don't f**king have it.’”

“She’s like, 'What the f**k are you and Josh going to do?' Like, I’ve done everything,” the third daughter of Mama June added.

Meanwhile, people online have reacted to the family drama. One referring to Alana asked, “She didn't qualify for scholarships with all that knowledge and talent?”

“Where is the money they make from the show going? It all goes to June? Alana is the star, shouldn’t she have a lot of money saved?” a user on X remarked.
