Matt Damon will stick with pal Ben Affleck ‘no matter how hard’ Jennifer Lopez tries to persuade him
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Matt Damon is allegedly siding with Ben Affleck in his divorce from Jennifer Lopez despite the previous reports indicating his partiality toward the ‘Jenny From The Block’ singer.
Recently, a source close to the ‘Gigli’ couple spilled to In Touch that Damon is supporting his childhood friend no matter how hard the 55-year-old singer “tries to get on his good side.”
After separating in April, Bennifer headed toward divorce in August when the ‘Maid in Manhattan’ actress filed for divorce from her husband of two years on the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding. Ever since speculations have been rampant regarding Damon’s take on the divorce.
Matt Damon has picked his side in Ben Affleck-Jennifer Lopez divorce
A source close to 'Good Will Hunting’ stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon recently shared with the outlet, “Matt’s loyalty to Ben is unshakable.”
Referring to Jennifer Lopez, the source said, “It’s important to her to stay in good graces with Ben’s friends, even after the breakup, but Matt has never been close with Jennifer and is firmly on Team Affleck, no matter how hard she tries to get on his good side!”
At the Venice Film Festival earlier this month, Lopez met with Damon at the ‘Unstoppable’ premiere where they engaged in a deep conversation for almost 20 minutes.
According to an insider, who observed them, said, "The two friends laughed and spoke more seriously, and for several minutes, they clasped hands as they spoke."
Matt Damon finds Ben Affleck's behavior toward Jennifer Lopez 'cruel and unwarranted'
The report of Matt Damon siding with Ben Affleck came after it was reported that the ‘Oppenheimer’ star found his friend’s behavior “cruel and unwarranted” toward his estranged wife, Jennifer Lopez.
Earlier, another source told In Touch, "Jennifer has been confiding a lot in Matt, not just in Toronto but during recent weeks as well.”
They explained, "She’s found him to be a calming influence and is hopeful their friendship will last beyond the marriage, plus she’d like to work with him down the line, too."
"It’s been very difficult for Matt to sit by and condone or even forgive Ben’s behavior, which he finds cruel and totally unwarranted,” said the source.
“He’s not trying to butt in for the sake of it and can see very well that life with Jennifer was likely a challenge, but not to a point where she deserved to be humiliated and degraded,” the mole added.
The source shared that 'The Martian' actor does not endorse Affleck’s behavior as he is "big on manners".
"His wife, Luciana [Barroso], also agrees that Ben’s handled this situation with a serious lack of empathy or class,” added the source before concluding, “And they’ve not been shy letting him know that."
