Meghan Markle breaks silence on viral twerking video, says despite noise she has a 'fun life'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle is finally speaking out about the throwback video of her and Prince Harry twerking in a hospital room just before the birth of their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
The Duchess of Sussex had posted the clip on June 4 in celebration of Lilibet’s fourth birthday, sparking mixed reactions online. While many found it sweet, others labeled it “cringey.”
Meghan Markle brings up her viral twerking video in chat with Emma Grede
In the latest episode of the 'Aspire with Emma Grede' podcast, Meghan Markle opened up about the now-viral clip.
The video, which she originally shared on Instagram with the caption, “Four years ago today, this also happened... Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work - there was only one thing left to do! 😂,” featured Meghan and Harry dancing as she prepared to give birth.

As the podcast host Emma Grede brought up the topic of being authentic to the public, Meghan said, "Just be authentic," before asking her with a laugh, "Did you see my ‘Baby Momma’ dance?" as per People.
Emma, founding partner and chief product officer of SKIMS and CEO and co-founder of Good American, responded, "We maybe watched it like 20 times yesterday, and I was like, is that, is that her? Is that Prince Harry there with the fingers… I was like, okay… good on Harry, let's go."
She complimented Meghan’s candid moment in the video, saying it gave fans a new glimpse into her personality.
“But that's you, right? Like that's you in a way that we kind of haven't been able to see you before,” Emma said.

The host continued, “And I did like a little secret cheer, cause I was like, well, that's what I kind of want to see from you. Like I wanna see that happiness and that honesty and that ‘I don't give a f**k’ kind of thing.”
Meghan Markle says twerking video is a reminder that there's a 'real, authentic, fun life' behind the noise
Meghan Markle said the video serves as a reminder that not everything about her life is visible to the public.
“That was four years ago. So it's also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there's still a whole life — a real, authentic, fun life — that's happening behind the scenes.”

She added, “I'm just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms."
