MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump was convicted by a jury on 34 counts of falsifying business records in a trial related to hush money payments. These payments were intended to conceal extramarital affairs, including one with adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

Megyn Kelly swiftly voiced her outrage on X, demanding the disbarment of Alvin Bragg, the district attorney who prosecuted Trump.

Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. Megyn Kelly claims Joe Biden and Barack Obama could be targeted for indictment

"The country is disgraced. Alvin Bragg should be disbarred. They will rue the day they unleashed this lawfare to corrupt a presidential election," she tweeted.

In a subsequent six-minute diatribe on her SiriusXM podcast, Kelly doubled down on her criticism, arguing that the case against Trump sets a dangerous precedent for targeting political opponents.

She predicted a "tit-for-tat" indictments against prominent Democrats, including President Joe Biden and former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, suggesting a potential erosion of democratic norms.

"This is ridiculous. What a sad day. The country's been disgraced. That's what's happened," she started. "We made it almost 250 years without doing this. And now, because of falsified business records, we've convicted as a felon a former president of the US."

Kelly argued that the accusations against Trump were so minor that Republicans could theoretically build comparable cases against former Democratic presidents.

"You don't think we could have done something like this to Bill Clinton or Hillary Clinton or others?" she remarked. "We had a standard. We didn't do this in America. We aren't a banana republic, or at least we didn't used to be."

Kelly asserted that Thursday's verdict signified a pivotal moment for America, implying that the nation had reached a point of no return.

"These Democrats will rue the day they decided to use lawfare to stop a presidential candidate," she stated. "I'm not talking about violence. I'm talking about tit for tat. You just wait and it won't be Hunter Biden the next time. It's going to be Joe Biden. It could potentially still be Barack Obama. It could still potentially be Hillary Clinton."

She claimed that Democrats had "tasted blood today" and advocated for retaliation as the sole method through which they would comprehend.

"The only way to save the republic now is to give them a taste of their own medicine. That's it," she argued. "They're the wolves with the bloody piece of meat in their mouths. That doesn't stop the wolf from coming back for more. The only thing that will stop him is if he loses a limb of his own."

Jury convicts Donald Trump on 34 counts of falsifying business records

The trial of Trump lasted for five weeks and showcased compelling evidence, including testimony from 22 witnesses. This trial represents the inaugural instance of a former US President undergoing a criminal trial.

Trump faces a maximum potential sentence of up to four years in prison for each of the charges on which he was convicted. His sentencing is set for July 11. Despite being the presumptive Republican presidential candidate, Trump is positioned to challenge Biden in the November election.

They are lying and manipulating in every aspect of our society. Get rid of them all." read another tweet. [sic]
