Melania documentary premiere turns into Trump Cabinet show of strength at Kennedy Center
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump’s return to the Kennedy Center on Thursday night, January 29, was framed as a film premiere but unfolded more like a political rally.
The event, held one day ahead of the release of Melania Trump’s new documentary, 'Melania: Twenty Days to History', which chronicles the days leading up to Trump’s second inauguration, drew a striking lineup of senior Cabinet members, administration officials, and public allies, turning the red carpet into a visible show of support for the president and first lady amid mounting domestic and political pressures.
Trump cabinet and administration leaders at the premiere
What stood out most was the strong presence of President Trump’s inner circle, turning the premiere into a clear show of loyalty. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Attorney General Pam Bondi were among the senior figures in attendance, joined by other key legal and political allies.
FBI Director Kash Patel also walked the black carpet, adding to the sense of unity within the administration. Tom Homan, who is leading immigration enforcement efforts in Minnesota, was present as well.
Pete Hegseth
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth arrived with his wife, Jennifer Rauchet, showing clear support for Trump at a time when national security remains high on the agenda.
Robert F Kennedy Jr
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr was spotted in a navy suit, joining many top officials backing the Trumps at the black-carpet event.
Dr Mehmet Oz
Dr Mehmet Oz, who leads the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, attended with his wife and children, making it a personal as well as political appearance.
Alina Habba
Former Trump attorney Alina Habba appeared in a chic black pantsuit, days after stepping down from her government role.
Mike Johnson
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson walked the carpet with his wife, Kelly, later saying Congress may be headed toward a short shutdown over immigration funding disputes.
Nicki Minaj
Beyond politics, the premiere also drew non-political figures, including Nicki Minaj and Dr Phil, blending celebrity with governance in a way that mirrored Trump’s long-standing political style.
Rap superstar Nicki Minaj stood out among the attendees at the 'Melania' screening, wearing a baby-blue keyhole dress by Maison Schiaparelli, paired with gold cuff bracelets and drop earrings.

Kelly Loeffler and Jeffrey Sprecher
Kelly Loeffler, a member of Trump’s cabinet, and her billionaire husband Jeffrey Sprecher were also seen at the screening.
Loeffler appeared relaxed and smiling, a sharp contrast to her role earlier in the day as Small Business Administrator at a White House cabinet meeting.
Howard Lutnick and Allison Lutnick
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and wife Allison Lutnick were all smiles on the black colored carpet as they turned up to support the first lady at Washington’s Kennedy Center.
Linda McMahon
The 77-year-old Education Secretary Linda McMahon appeared to put her issues with Fairfield Public Schools behind her, opting for a more relaxed, comfort-focused look at the documentary screening.
Top Trump allies attend as key figures skip premiere
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who was expected to attend, did not appear as she faces intense pressure following the fatal shooting of a protester by Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis.
Intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard and Energy Secretary Chris Wright also did not attend the premiere due to prior commitments.
No details were provided about their schedules, though both were seen earlier in the day at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting at the White House.
Donald Trump Jr and his girlfriend, Bettina Anderson, attended the event, while Trump’s other children were notably absent.
