PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Melania Trump shares a close bond with her teenage and only son Barron Trump, who is a university student now.

The former first lady is also reportedly a shield to the 18-year-old and likes to have an open communication with him amid their very public life.

And now since Donald Trump is approaching his second term after winning the 2024 election, Melania is more worried for her child.

Melania Trump ‘tries to normalize’ Barron’s life

An insider told PEOPLE, “Melania worries about the hate in the country and how it falls on her son, who is innocent of any of this,” referring to the controversies Trump family have faced over the years.

“She is and has been a good sounding board for him. They talk about life as it is and how they are in the spotlight. She tries to normalize his life. If that is even possible,” they noted.

The former model was quite close to her parents and she aspires the same with Barron.

Another source hailed Melania for being a present parent.

They mentioned, “Any child in the world spotlight like this would be lucky to have a parent so willing to give her time to help keep his life running smoothly.”

Explaining further, the mole stated that the 54-year-old does not want Barron to live a different life from his peers.

“She wants to encourage him to make friends, be super careful of the haters which can be anywhere — especially on college campuses these days — and keep him mentally healthy by having open communication with him and the rest of her immediate family,” the tipster added.

Barron Trump not allowed to live in college dorm

This came after a tipster earlier disclosed that the Slovenian native won’t let Barron live with his fellow classmates at New York University.

The confidante revealed, as per OK! Magazine, “She will do everything she can to make sure Barron does well in school and is socially and mentally adjusted to his life as a college student. Living in a dorm in a college town isn't in the stars for him at this point.”

“Barron already has his own political ideas. It all needs to be monitored in light of the situation. Whether or not others think he is capable of being on his own, Melania feels it's better to be around him as much as possible. I see that continuing,” they added.
