Monica Lewinsky accuses Jay Leno of targeting her on ‘The Tonight Show' over her affair with Bill Clinton

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Monica Lewinsky has slammed Jay Leno for targeting her brutally after her bombshell affair with Bill Clinton became public.
The activist talked about her past in a recent appearance on the 'Call Her Daddy’ podcast on Tuesday, February 25.
She told host Alex Cooper that though she was targeted by many people after the former president admitted to having had an affair with her, it was Leno who did not miss a single chance to demean her, as reported by The Mirror.
Lewinsky also revealed that she was the only non-public figure among the Top 10 targets on a list made by the comedian during his time hosting ‘The Tonight Show'.
Monica Lewinsky is still upset with Jay Leno
Recalling her difficult time, she told Alex Cooper, “I think what was interesting that I started to see in the public arena was that, very sadly, it was a lot of women who said worse things about me than the men.”
The former political intern continued, “The men told a lot of jokes, right? So the late-night hosts… I think when Jay Leno retired, some media organisation had done a study and listed the Top 10 targets, his Top 10 targets of his late night show, and I was on that list.”
“I was the only person who wasn’t a public figure,” she claimed.
Monica Lewinsky thinks Bill Clinton did not handle the situation well
Elsewhere during the interview, Monica Lewinsky also pointed out the way Bill Clinton handled the scandal in the late 1990s.
“When you look back once the news broke and how everything was handled by the media and the White House, how do you think it should have been handled? Have you thought about that?” Cooper asked her.
She began, “I think that… I think that he should have said… I'm now thinking this through. I don't think I've answered this question before, but it's a good question. Yeah, I haven’t been asked that before.”
“So I think that the right way to handle a situation like that would have been to probably say it was, you know, nobody's business, and to resign, you know? Or to find a way, to find a way of staying in office that was not lying, and not throwing a young person who was just starting out in the world, under the bus,” Lewinsky added.
Jay Leno felt Monica Lewinsky was 'fair game'
After Monica Lewinsky’s criticism, Jay Leno has insisted on his innocence.

As per TMZ, sources close to the TV host said that he believed “she was just an easy punchline and fair game, since she was everywhere in the news at the time.”
The sources also noted that the 74-year-old Lewinsky “was often the butt of the jokes, but no one was out to get her personally.”
