CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA: In the wake of the shooting in Washington, DC that resulted in the death of one National Guard member and the injury of another, Representative Nancy Mace criticized the Democratic Party and linked the rhetoric and policies of the political left to what she viewed as a dangerous rise in violence against law enforcement and military personnel.

Mace asserted that the political left has fostered an environment of "sedition" and hostility, which she claimed is allowing criminal elements to thrive and encouraging attacks on those who serve and protect.

Nancy Mace blames the previous administration for security failures

Nancy Mace blamed the security failures on the previous administration. "I want to state for the record that President Biden created this mess and President Trump is the only one coming and cleaning it up, so I want to thank President Trump and his administration," she stated.

Regarding vetting failures, Mace expressed confidence in the current administration's ability to correct the course.

She stated that the administration "will develop every resource necessary through his administration to do the heavy vetting that was necessary, should have been done years ago but that was not and I hope that we'll see more deportations as a result of it particularly from these Third World countries where these people shouldn't be here."

Nancy Mace blames Democrats for rhetoric fueling anti-law enforcement attacks

Nancy Mace proceeded to draw a connection between the Democratic Party's messaging and a climate of violence against political opponents and uniformed personnel, including the National Guard members deployed to assist police. She claimed that the left's rhetoric is driving violence against uniformed personnel.

She linked anti-police sentiment to the party: “We've seen the increase of shooting on cops throughout the country because of defunding the police by the left, because of the rhetoric of the left. We've seen ICE agents even attacked by our own members of Congress on the left side of the aisle, due to the rhetoric, and no one is being held accountable for any of it. But I know that under Donald Trump, under his presidency and his administration, they are getting after it.”

In a social media post, she called for the death penalty of the DC shooting suspect, writing, "We hope President Trump and his administration sees to it this terrorist responsible for the cold-blooded murder of Guardswoman Sarah Beckstrom is put down like the rabid monster he is."

"Tragedies like this happen because of the rhetoric of Leftist lunatics making our law enforcement out to be evil. Blood is on their hands too," she added.

Nancy Mace says Democrats should 'go to jail' for urging troops to defy orders

Nancy Mace also addressed the controversial video featuring six Democratic lawmakers, who urged military and intelligence personnel to refuse "illegal orders," labeling the action as nothing short of sedition and treason.

Mace declared that Democrats wrongly operate under the belief that they are above the law. "Oh, absolutely, they believe they're above the law. And the irony in the statement that you just aired there, and you said this is an active intimidation to try to interview him, it's literally an active intimidation of our troops by telling them to break the law," she stated.

She fully endorsed the president's position on the matter: "I agree with President Trump on this: this is treason, this is sedition. And those individuals in the Democrat party, they are not above the law, and I hope the president and his administration will prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law, whatever that may lead, and that people have to go to jail for this sort of thing."

Mace concluded with a stern warning to the Democratic lawmakers involved: "For all those elected officials that believe in sedition, you people in the Democrat party who are the first ones to say Republicans are a threat to democracy, you are the ones literally telling soldiers to break the law because you don't like President Trump. I hope he comes after you with everything he has."
