LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian Chelsea Handler sparked outrage on social media after making inappropriate remarks about veteran actors Robert De Niro and Harrison Ford during her opening monologue as host of the 2024 Critics' Choice Awards on Sunday, January 14.

Handler, 48, called the 80-year-old De Niro and 81-year-old Ford "smokeshows" and professed her fondness for "old men," leaving many questioning the appropriateness of her comments, as reported by Daily Mail.

Handler, known for her raunchy humor, began her opening monologue by stating her preference for much older men. "I like my men old. The older the better," she said. "I'm looking right at you, Robert De Niro and Harrison Ford. I don't know which one of you is more of a smokeshow."

De Niro and Ford did not appear amused as Handler continued with increasingly inappropriate remarks. "You both have been so hot for decades and just keep getting hotter. I know you're both spoken for, so I'm not hitting on you. But I am hitting on you," she told the veteran actors.

Handler then singled out Ford, confessing he's "been revving my hormones up since I hit puberty at the age of 8." She welcomed him on stage to present the Career Achievement Award, saying, "I turn into a flustered Barbie anytime you're near me."

De Niro has been in a relationship with Tiffany Chen, with whom he recently welcomed a daughter, while Ford has been married to actress Calista Flockhart since 2010.
