Internet agrees as Megyn Kelly slams Katie Couric for calling Trump supporters 'bitter and envious'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Megyn Kelly was left virtually speechless by Katie Couric’s recent comments describing supporters of former President Donald Trump as driven by “anti-intellectualism.”
According to Yahoo.com, during a segment on 'The Megyn Kelly Show', Kelly played a clip of Couric's interview with Bill Maher on his podcast, where Couric delved into the topic of political polarization in the United States.
Katie Couric's analysis shed light on perception of Trump supporters
“Talk about not getting it,” Kelly remarked on Couric’s analysis.
Couric's remarks on Maher's 'Club Random' podcast shed light on her perception of Trump supporters: “The socio-economic disparities are a lot and class resentment is a lot and anti-intellectualism and elitism is what is driving many of these anti-establishment [people] — which are Trump voters — so, I think that is a huge problem that we have to address.”
She continued, attributing feelings of jealousy and resentment among Trump supporters to globalization and the decline of American manufacturing: “...jealous” and “resentful,” which are both “corroding” and “bitter” emotions — an “almost bile feeling,” the former NBC 'Today' show host said.

Megyn Kelly reacted to Katie Couric's comparison
Couric's characterization of Trump voters as "bitter, jealous, and corrosive over their envy for her half,” drew Kelly's attention, as she likened it to Hillary Clinton's "basket of deplorables" comment from the 2016 presidential campaign.
“It was another basket of deplorables,” Kelly remarked, sarcastically paraphrasing Couric's words: “These anti-intellectual, bitter, envious people who are Trump supporters.”
“That’s the problem. They’re bitter,” Kelly emphasized.
Furthermore, Couric, during her conversation with Maher, defended the press against accusations of bias, arguing that Trump's presidency had dramatically altered media dynamics and contributed to the erosion of decorum and basic decency in the country.
