According to a source close to the Carter family, Bella is currently under the care of her late father's sister and is staying with her following the untimely death of her mother.

The family has come together to share responsibilities in helping care for Bella during this challenging time.

"Bobbie Jean Carter's daughter, Bella, is in the care of her late father's sister and staying with her after passing of her mother," the source says, with a second source adding, "The family is sharing responsibility helping with Bella and she is currently with her aunt."

Jane Carter, the mother of Aaron and Nick Carter, confirmed the passing of her daughter, Bobbie Jean, to TMZ on December 23. This marks the third tragic loss for Jane, who previously faced the deaths of her daughter, Leslie Carter, in 2012, and her son, Aaron Carter, last year.

Expressing shock and grief, Jane conveyed the difficulty of processing this loss, and she requested privacy as she coped with the devastating reality. She also emphasized the immense pain Bella is going through, having lost both her father and now her mother.

"I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time. When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private."

She added, "However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother."

Remembering Bobbie Jean Carter: A behind-the-scenes pillar of the Carter family

Bobbie Jean Carter, affectionately known as BJ, played a behind-the-scenes role in the Carter family's music business, especially during the height of her brothers' careers.

Primarily assisting Aaron as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist during his early 2000s tours, BJ contributed to the family's musical endeavors.

BJ also made appearances on the family's E! reality TV show, 'House of Carters,' where she featured in eight episodes. Despite the exposure, she opted for a relatively private life away from the spotlight in the years that followed. Preferring obscurity, BJ kept her life away from public scrutiny.

Her battles with addiction and substance abuse were documented on television, shedding light on the challenges she faced. Unfortunately, these struggles persisted into her later years. Despite the hardships, BJ chose to maintain a low profile, dealing with her issues privately.
