WASHINGTON, DC: Nick Fuentes, a white supremacist and MAGA influencer, made a shocking claim on December 28, saying that he would support California Governor Gavin Newsom over Vice President JD Vance, claiming Newsom is “more handsome.”

The post reignited controversy around Fuentes, who has repeatedly targeted Vance in the past, including with racist attacks tied to Vance’s interfaith marriage. In his latest remarks, Fuentes escalated the feud by mocking Vance with juvenile insults on social media.

Nick Fuentes attacks JD Vance

Nick Fuentes attacked JD Vance in a recent post on X by invoking “physiognomy,” a discredited belief that facial features reveal character. He opened the tweet by praising physical appearance and aesthetics, "Physiognomy is real. Post physique, its handsome thursday. I only believe in beauty and aesthetics!!"

He then contrasted Vance with Newsom, arguing that Newsom’s looks alone made him more deserving of support. "JD Vance = fat subhuman. Newsom mogs him to death I would vote for him 100x over just because he’s handsome."

Fuentes emphasized appearance over party loyalty and he closed the post with a mocking jab at Republicans who demand strict partisan voting. "NOOOOOO NOT LIKE THAT!!!! YOU HAVE TO VOTE FOR THE REPUBLICAN!!"

Fuentes’s post followed comments from JD Vance responding to critics who targeted his wife, Usha, including Nick Fuentes.

Speaking to UnHerd, Vance forcefully defended his wife and condemned those attacks, naming both political commentators and extremists.

"Let me be clear. Anyone who attacks my wife, whether their name is Jen Psaki or Nick Fuentes, can eat s**t, That’s my official policy as vice president of the United States."

In the same interview, Vance emphasized, "Antisemitism and all forms of ethnic hatred have no place in the conservative movement. Whether you’re attacking somebody because they’re white or because they’re black or because they’re Jewish, I think it’s disgusting.”

Critics accused JD Vance of appealing to Nick Fuentes

In recent weeks, critics have accused JD Vance of appealing to Nick Fuentes and his “Groyper Army” after Vance said in a TPUSA speech that the MAGA movement should not impose ideological purity tests.

He made the remarks as conservative figures like Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson publicly argued over whether the movement should tolerate open hate and antisemitism.

Fuentes’s post echoed comments from influencer Braden Peters, known online as “Clavicular,” who recently made similar claims during an interview with The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles.

During that conversation, Peters argued, "Yeah, but I mean, like, this next election cycle, who’s going to win? It’s going to be Gavin Newsom against JD Vance, because JD Vance is subhuman and Gavin Newsom mogs.”

Knowles challenged those claims, questioning both the logic and the insults, but Peters continued to argue that physical appearance would influence the outcome.

"He’s got a very short total facial width-to-height ratio. He’s obese, very recessed side profile, whereas Newsom is like 6’3″ chad,” Peters insisted. “So you’re a Newsom head? You prefer Newsom to the vice president?"

Knowles replied, "So JD’s very tall. JD’s gotta be 6’2', 6’3'" To which Peters insisted, "Gavin Newsom obviously mogs him to death." Knowles added, "So you’re a Newsom head? You prefer Newsom to the vice president?" Peters responded, "I’m telling you who’s going to win."

Then Knowles asked, "Do you prefer them though?" “Um, honestly… it’s hard to say, but Newsom being that much more of a mogger and, like, having a president who’s, like, fat and especially that young.” Peters argued.
