Nicola Coughlan fans slam 'rude' Emmy Awards guests for interrupting her red carpet moment
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nicola Coughlan, star of 'Bridgerton' and 'Derry Girls', made her debut at the 2024 Emmy Awards on September 15, turning heads with her stunning appearance.
However, despite her showstopping look, it wasn't all smooth sailing for Coughlan on the red carpet, and her fans weren’t happy about it.
Nicola Coughlan's glamorous red carpet moment interrupted by 'rude' guests
Dressed in a striking silver Prabal Gurung gown, the 37-year-old Irish actress was the epitome of elegance as she posed for photographers at the star-studded event held at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
As Coughlan stood poised for photos, eager to showcase her dazzling off-the-shoulder sequin gown, her moment was repeatedly interrupted by unaware guests who appeared to walk right in front of her during photo ops.
In footage shared on X (formerly Twitter), a couple could be seen crossing in front of the cameras, followed by another person who was promptly ushered away by the photographer.

The rude disruptions left fans fuming, as they took to social media to express their frustration over how Coughlan was treated.
"That's so rude. I don't even walk infront of strangers photos. ITS JUST MANNERS!" commented one fan, while others were quick to point out how unfair it was for Coughlan, a rising star, to be overshadowed on such an important night.
"Don’t red carpets usually have a back route behind the step and repeat to avoid this situation? Or are these old guys just being deliberately rude," another fan wrote, echoing the sentiments of many who felt the actress wasn’t given the respect she deserved.
"Nah whoever managed this carpet needs to be fired. This is ridiculous," opined one user.

Joining the discussion, a follower shared, "Really! that’s purely selfish behavior on those people. The surroundings mean nothing to them, only themselves."
A remark underscored, "Let the queen enjoy her moment why they keep disrupting her."
Similarly, another comment echoed, "And she's still being so sweet about it too.. she doesn't deserve to be treated like this."

Nicola Coughlan stuns in glittering Prabal Gurung gown
Despite the red carpet mishap, Nicola Coughlan looked phenomenal in her gown, which showcased her incredible figure, with a stylish neckline and structured layered skirt.
She wore a Prabal Gurung gown that seemed straight out of a futuristic fantasy.
The gown sparkled under the lights, and the actress completed the look with a neat half-updo of her blonde tresses and a simple pair of drop earrings.
The sculptural dress featured a wide peplum waist and pencil skirt and she accessorised the ensemble with delicate De Beers jewellery and an Artists4Ceasefire pin.
The incident occurred during the 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which were hosted by the iconic father-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy.
The pair made history as the first father-and-son co-hosts of the Emmys. The pair had also won Emmys for Schitt's Creek in 2020.
Reflecting on their turn as hosts, the Levys shared, "For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theatre was incentive enough."
This year’s Emmys held less than a year after the delayed 75th edition due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes, delivered a night of celebration for television.
