Nina Dobrev feels 'survivor's guilt’ after her home survives LA fires amid widespread devastation
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nina Dobrev has shared that she’s been “feeling survivor’s guilt” after finding her home safely standing despite being located “close to one of the fires”.
She also revealed she's “sick to my stomach” because of all the devastation caused by Los Angeles fires, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Taking to her Instagram account on Saturday, January 18, Dobrev, who had to leave her home on January 9 due to the fires, began, “It’s been such a tragic time in Los Angeles recently.”

Nina Dobrev says her ‘heart is broken for all the people affected by’ LA fires
“I have been absolutely sick to my stomach with all the destruction and devastation that these fires have caused and displaced so many families. My heart is broken for all the people affected by these wildfires,” the ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage’ star noted.
She also went on to say that January 9 was also her birthday but she had to evacuate on that very day.
Continuing further, she stated, “I wanted to make this video to thank everyone for their birthday wishes and to make a request. I don’t know about you, but I have been feeling survivor’s guilt.”
“I wanted to help, and while I was overwhelmed and didn’t know how at first, I have since researched and have been seeing online that many of the shelters have enough clothes,” the ‘The Vampire Diaries’ actress said.
Nina Dobrev requests people to donate
Dobrev then clarified that she thinks people currently need “financial aid” more than anything as she claimed, “The Pacific Palisades, the Altadena-Pasadena community in particular needs it the most.”
In the caption of her social media post, the 36-year-old actress stated that she’s “donated to the families on the Google doc that is linked in my bio,” while urging others to make contributions too.
“There is a dedicated section for the black families & other historically marginalized groups in the Altadena community who have been hit especially hard,” she shared in the caption, before adding, “The road to rebuilding and healing for so many families who have lost everything starts now, and it will be a long one… ❤️🩹”
Wildfires have taken 27 lives and burned down thousands of structures
The fires began on January 7 in the Pacific Palisades and immediately spread to various nearby areas, while claiming 27 lives and destroying over 13,600 structures.
Many celebrities, like Mandy Moore, Anthony Hopkins, Anna Faris, Ricki Lake and Eugene Levy, have also lost their homes in the fires.
