LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Oprah Winfrey had her own divine moment in Vatican City this week.

It didn’t involve a talk show reunion or a surprise car giveaway. Instead, it was about a cursory interaction with none other than Pope Leo XIV.

The 71-year-old media queen was stationed on the sidelines with her pal Gayle King, catching the newly elected pontiff rolling by in his popemobile after delivering his first-ever papal mass. Just as the popemobile eased past their perch in the crowd, Oprah leaned in and hollered, “Chicago!”

Of course, Chicago was Oprah's longtime stomping ground and the home of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' - but it’s also where the new pope, Robert Francis Prevost, was born in 1955, the Daily Mail reported.

Fans convinced Pope Leo was starstruck by Oprah Winfrey

"This past Sunday, @oprah and @gayleking attended the inaugural mass for @pontifex — and they captured the moment he drove by them in the Popemobile!" a video was captioned on Oprah's Instagram.

"It’ll be a moment they’ll never forget, especially for Chicago’s own Lady O."

Oprah’s clip of the encounter quickly went viral. Fans were obsessed with decoding the look on Pope Leo’s face as he spotted her in the crowd.

"Pope is like I see you Oprah!" one commented.

"He knew it was you! So cool! Wow! He knows you're a great human," another wrote.

"He pointed at you [Oprah]. That is so cool. The Pope knows Oprah," a third fan added.

"Awwwww what a special moment for you guys. This is definitely a beautiful memory always In your lives🙌👏," someone else chimed in.

"The point! He's gotta be a tiny bit amazed to see her in the crowd," said another commenter, scoring nearly 600 likes.

"Awww. Pretty sure he got emotional to see you guys and hear his hometown mentioned," another offered.

From the looks of the footage, they might be onto something.

Right as Oprah let out her “Chicago!” the pontiff gave a quick glance back, grinned, and waved in what definitely looked like a point in her direction. Someone exclaimed, “He pointed at you!” just before the clip cut out.

Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, and Maria Shriver take a trip to the Vatican

The star-studded pilgrimage didn’t stop there. As Oprah revealed in a post for Oprah Daily, she and Gayle were also rolling with their good friend Maria Shriver. The holy trinity of feminist stars had been invited to the mass by none other than Fr Manuel Dorantes himself.

Oprah was deeply moved.

"It gave me hope to hear him speak, so simply and from the heart, of unity in a world so divided," she gushed about the pope’s inaugural homily.

"The pope’s message wasn’t cloaked in dogma or political calculation. It was an invitation," she continued, adding, "An invitation to imagine what could happen if we centered our lives not around fear or control, but around love, service, and radical compassion."
