NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: Patrick Mahomes Sr, father of Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was recently seen getting into a heated confrontation with former MLB pitcher John Rocker in the streets of New Orleans.

The former MLB pitchers were recorded getting in a verbal fight with the two having to be separated. The incident reportedly took place sometime during the Super Bowl 2025 week which the Philadelphia Eagles won 40-22 against the Chiefs, according to the New York Post.

The viral video showed Mahomes Sr standing outside Willie’s Chicken Shack on Bourbon Street which was near to the iconic St Louis Cathedral.

In the clip, Rocker could be seen walking out of the establishment saying something in Mahomes Sr's direction. He then seemed to extend his hand for a handshake, which Mahomes Sr declined by pushing his hand away.

Moreover, Mahomes Sr gestured toward a shocked Rocker and both the former pitchers seemed to be furious when two men got between them as they continued to shout at one other, per the outlet.

In the video, an unidentified person could be heard repeatedly shouting "Oh s**t" as the situation escalated quite quickly. A different person asked in shock, "Is that f*****g Johnny Rocker?"

Mahomes Sr could be seen being pushed away by two men, one in a blue shirt and one in a red baseball cap. Notably, both the former pitchers addressed the heated confrontation on social media. 

Rocker took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "This f*****g loser can’t take a damn joke. Wish I laid him out right there and ruined his b******t weekend even more."



 

Meanwhile, Mahomes Sr responded to his X post and wrote, "You really haven't changed one bit in the last 25 years. Keep my name out your loud mouth."



 

Mahomes Sr wrote in a different post, "John Rocker is a menace to society."



 

Patrick Mahomes Sr and John Rocker's upcoming boxing event

Amid their altercation on the streets of New Orleans, many have speculated that Patrick Mahomes Sr and John Rocker would be taking part in an upcoming Barstool Sports 'Rough ‘N’ Rowdy' boxing event.

People believed that the New Orleans incident was just an attempt to hype up the upcoming event, according to the New York Post.

Moreover, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy also confirmed that the two would face each other in the ring in an interview with street journalist Adam Glyn.

According to the outlet, Portnoy told Glyn, "I don’t know, that’s why I don’t want the paperwork to get ripped up. I think it is" when asked about their fight.

He added, "I believe we have a signed agreement for Mahomes Sr. to fight John Rocker at Rough N Rowdy. I think it’s 100 percent, but I haven’t seen the signed paperwork yet."
