PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Penny Lancaster opened up about warning her husband, singer Rod Stewart, to never be in the radius of President Donald Trump on the Friday, February 28, episode of 'Loose Women', reported GBN.

As per the publication, the couple lives near Trump's private Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and was seen at many parties hosted by him in the past. Lancaster decided to distance herself and Stewart from Trump when she found his rhetoric while running for the White House crossed certain boundaries.

Penny Lancaster's take on Donald Trump

Donald Trump was brought up for discussion on Penny Lancaster's show after he met with British Prime Minister Kier Starmer the day before.

"There was so much apprehension behind that meeting and how it would go because Trump is such a powerful figure at the moment and Penny... you have met him, you have been in the room with him," co-host Kaye Adams reportedly observed.

Starmer's trip comes shortly after he announced an increase in UK defence spending, ostensibly as a signal to Trump that the UK is prepared to bolster Europe's security, and as he aims to broker a fair peace deal for Ukraine amid Trump's warming relations with Russia. "Well, like you say, he has that ability to kind of get that audience with his power status, and my husband and I, we had the fortune at the time to go to a couple of his events," replied the 53-year-old.

"He would run a charity event for the local police, but this was before he started running for president, so we got to see a certain side of him and at the time it was manageable, he worked the room, looked after all his guests, raised lots of money and it seemed fine," she continued.

However, trouble began when Trump began to show political ambitions, claimed Lancaster. It was the rhetoric that Trump and MAGA promoted against Muslims and Mexicans that drove her away.

"We have a house in Florida up the road from him, so from time to time, we would engage in those events. But when he began to run for president (we started) to hear those very dangerous rhetorics," she said.

"I was just like, woah, this is just crossing all sorts of boundaries here, this man sounds like he is going to disrupt the world in an unfortunate way," she continued, adding, "And from that point onwards, I said to my husband, I said ‘Darling we are not going anywhere near him again, I cannot be in the same space as someone who can speak that kind of language’."

Penny Lancaster and Rod Stewart's current equation with Donald Trump

Donald Trump being reinstated as the POTUS has not helped Penny Lancaster and Rod Stewart's life in any way, shared the television personality.

"Right now, because he is president again, we are literally five minutes from his house, and he blocks all the roads so you have to go the long way round to get anywhere," said Lancaster. "He literally controls that whole part of Florida. It is an uncomfortable thing. We keep as far as we can, push him, absolute no," she stated.

Stewart had reportedly shared his opinion on Trump in a recent interview, saying, "He's not the guy I met 20 years ago. I used to go to his house every Christmas and do concerts. He was a good guy. But he's turned into somewhat of a monster."
