Piers Morgan blasts 'spineless' Kamala Harris for bringing Tim Walz to her first interview as Dems leader
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Piers Morgan expressed his disapproval of Kamala Harris' decision to bring along her running mate Tim Walz to her first sit-down interview since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee.
The interview, set to air on Thursday, August 29, on CNN, with chief political correspondent and anchor Dana Bash, marks a significant moment for Harris, who is seeking to become America's first female president.
Piers Morgan's criticism of Kamala Harris
On Wednesday, August 28, Piers Morgan took to X to criticize Kamala Harris' decision to do a joint interview with Tim Walz.
"Pretty spineless for the woman seeking to smash the ultimate feminist glass ceiling and become America’s first female president, to need a bloke beside her for this interview to hold her hand," wrote Morgan.
"I hope Dana’s first question is: ‘Madam Vice President, what’s HE doing here?'" the British broadcaster added.

Republican strategists call out Kamala Harris' 'weak' move
Joining the chorus of criticism against Kamala Harris' decision are several republican strategists including CNN commentator and former George W Bush White House official Scott Jennings, who said, "I think it’s incredibly weak, weak sauce to show up with your running mate."
Speaking on the network's evening program hosted by Anderson Cooper, he argued that the decision showed a "troubling lack of confidence in her political ability."
"The fact that they don't have enough confidence in her to let her sit herself, the actual top of the ticket and do a single interview," said Jennings.
"In fact, I think the handwringing and the gyrations over this, over the last month show a troubling, lack of confidence in her political ability,' he continued.
"I think Republicans are going to think it's pretty week to show up with effectively someone to take up half the time," Jennings added, per Daily Mail.
Kamala Harris faces mounting pressure following Joe Biden's exit
Kamala Harris' decision to appear with Tim Walz came amid increasing pressure to address questions about her plans since President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 election race on July 21.
The vice president faced growing demands to engage with a platform that would offer rigorous questioning.
While some political commentators have called CNN a friendly territory, Donald Trump has praised the network's handling of the debate on June 27, which many believe played a pivotal role in Biden's decision to step aside.
The former president told his supporters that "they treated me very fairly last" at the first presidential debate.
"Very professional, both of them," Trump said of the moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.
