Rumors of Ariana Grande and Jim Carrey 'continuing their strange relationship' debunked
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A wild theory has been doing rounds on the Internet lately, claiming Jim Carrey and Ariana Grande are secretly in a relationship.
Though it is not clear who started the rumors, people reportedly linked the two in the first week of December 2024 on TikTok.
Also, a seemingly now-deleted video on YouTube claimed that Grande is cheating on her boyfriend Ethan Slater while secretly romancing the 62-year-old actor.
The video, citing ‘Blind Items’, stated that “this A list singer/ sometimes actress may be embracing her relationship publicly, but she's back to hanging out with the creepy north of the border actor and continuing their strange relationship.”
Ariana Grande once referred to Jim Carrey as her ‘childhood crush’
Though there is no actual proof or evidence of the claims, the 31-year-old singer and the ‘Dumb and Dumber’ star are no stranger to each other.
In 2015, Ariana Grande had called Jim Carrey her “childhood crush,” according to The Tab.
“My childhood crush, my lifelong crush, it kind of all goes together. It’s Jim Carrey,” she declared during an interview on ‘Live with Kelly and Michael.’
The ‘Wicked’ actress also shared at the time how she felt after meeting Carrey.
“I was kind of nervous to meet him, you know, he’s been my crush forever. What if he’s not as nice as I’m expecting?” she revealed.
Grande also noted, “He was so over-the-top nice, and perfect, and just as I hoped he’d be. He told me in his Jim Carrey way … ‘Remember, be nice.’ I was like, oh my god, you’re so cute.”
That was not it, the ‘Positions’ hitmaker also got a tattoo of Carrey’s one of the iconic lines from ‘The Truman Show.’ It read, “In case I don’t see ya good afternoon good evening, and good night!”
Ariana Grande called working with Jim Carrey ‘the most special experience’
Besides, Grande and the comedian even worked together in a drama/comedy show called ‘Kidding’ in 2020.
Later, the ‘Swindle’ actress, in a now-deleted post, said, “There aren’t words. I've been staring at my screen and no words do this moment justice. Thankful for the most special experience of my life.”
“Nothing is crazier than getting to work with and spend time with someone whom you’ve idolized and adored since before you could speak. Actually, what’s even crazier is discovering that person to be more special and warm and generous in person than you ever could’ve imagined,” Grande added, according to ABC News.
