LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ryan Gosling, who stole the spotlight at the 2024 Oscars with his electrifying performance of 'I'm Just Ken', said his daughter's "disinterest in Ken" led him to the role of Ken.
On Tuesday, March 12, Gosling also opened up to People at the world premiere of 'The Fall Guy' at SXSW in Austin to reveal how his wife Eva Mendes and their daughters gave him their crucial advice for his performance ahead of the show at the 96th Academy Awards.

On Tuesday, March 12, Gosling opened up to People at the world premiere of 'The Fall Guy' at SXSW in Austin to reveal how his wife and children gave him tips for his performance ahead of the show at the 96th Academy Awards.
The 'La La Land' actor, who shares two daughters, Esmeralda, nine, and Amanda, seven, with Mendes, told the outlet about the involvement of his family throughout his journey for the role of Ken in 'Barbie' and his performance at the Oscars on Sunday, March 10.

"It was great. It was so fun because they came to the dress rehearsal the day before and so they were in the front row," said Gosling.
"They gave me some tips and some notes, all great notes," he shared.
"They are such a huge part of this for me...it was my girl's interest in Barbie and disinterest in Ken that got me into this in the first place. It was beautiful to have them there at the end," Gosling added.

Wearing a sparkly pink suit and sunglasses, Gosling commenced his performance at the Oscars from the audience as he began singing 'I'm Just Ken' while sitting behind his 'Barbie' co-star Margot Robbie.
His performance on the stage was accompanied by fellow 'Barbie' Kens Ncuti Gatwa, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Simu Liu.
The energetic performance was concluded with Slash and Wolfgang Van Halen at the Oscars.
Ryan Gosling said his young daughters inspired him to take the 'Barbie' role
Gosling previously revealed to ET that his daughters helped him decide on taking the 'Barbie' role.
Explaining how his children inspired his decision to portray the iconic male dol, Gosling said, "They've seen a lot pieces of [the film], and helped me a lot with it."
"They were huge inspiration for me," he said in July 2023.
