Ryan Gosling's fans incensed as Hollywood exec says unlike Glen Powell he only appeals to female audiences
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ryan Gosling’s fans are not allowing a shade on the ‘Barbie’ actor’s acting prowess.
Recently, an unnamed Hollywood producer came under fire for claiming that Gosling’s “appeal is mostly limited to female audiences.”
During a recent interview with The Wrap, the producer was praising upcoming Hollywood A-lister Glen Powell. However, as the exec was narrating the greatness of the ‘Twisters' actor, they subtly shaded Gosling, which naturally, did not sit well with the fans.
Ryan Gosling criticized for having an appeal ‘mostly limited to female audiences’
Following the domestic success of Powell’s ‘Twisters’, a Hollywood executive claimed to The Wrap, “Glen Powell is most definitely an up-and-coming movie star in the sense that audiences now go to movies to see him.”
However, the executive seemed to undermine the ‘La La Land’ actor’s skills, as they said, “Unlike an actor like Ryan Gosling whose appeal is mostly limited to female audiences, Glen appeals to both females and males.”
The fans were, nevertheless, left extremely disgruntled at the statement as they seemed to remind the producer of the varied canon of Gosling’s work.
While Gosling’s fame reached an astronomical height through his portrayal of Ken in the 2023 summer blockbuster ‘Barbie’, he has had several other memorable works in his resume.
With two Best Actor nominations and one Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Oscars, ‘The Notebook’ star is one of the most dependable leading men in Hollywood and appeals to the audience of both sexes with equal elan.
Soon, social media users took it upon themselves to remind the producer of the various projects of Gosling that showcased his wide acting range.
