LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ryan Reynolds may be known for his perfect comedic timing, but his latest attempt at a fake tan had fans wondering if he took method acting for 'Deadpool' a little too far.

The 48-year-old Marvel star was snapped embracing longtime friend and 'Deadpool & Wolverine' co-star Hugh Jackman, 56, after catching his Broadway play 'Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Class' in New York City on Tuesday.

Reynolds was joined by wife Blake Lively, 37, for the night out - but it was his bizarre orange glow that stole the show.

The roast began almost immediately.

“Why is he so orange?” one user asked point-blank in the comments section.

“Ten layers of spray tan on the back of that neck,” another observed.

“Looks like his neck had been daubed with iodine pre-surgery!” a comment read

“Petition to stop Ryan’s spray tans,” a desperate fan begged.

Some social media sleuths pointed out that the actor may have been inspired by a 'Friends' character. More than one fan thought Reynolds might be channeling Ross Geller’s infamous tanning bed disaster.

“Maybe he thought, hey everyone loves Ross, he was so funny, so maybe if I channel that, people will love me again," one follower quipped.

“Holy orange neck, Deadpool!” someone else gasped. “Tanned pool,” another quipped, referencing Reynolds’ Marvel alter ego.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively looked very put together as they stepped out in NYC. Reynolds rocked tan pants, a white-striped button-down, and a burgundy jacket, while Lively slayed in a ruched black leather top, matching trousers, silver-embellished pumps, and a colorful purse.

The couple flashed smiles as they greeted Jackman outside the theater, the Daily Mail reported.

However, there was more bubbling beneath their happy faces. The couple's public appearance came amid another twist in their ongoing legal battle with actor-director Justin Baldoni

Marvel filed court papers last Friday asking to be dropped from the lawsuit altogether and to “quash the subpoena” over Reynolds’ “Nicepool” character in 'Deadpool & Wolverine' - a role Baldoni previously slammed as “bullying.”

Marvel also requested a “protective order prohibiting the disclosure of Marvel’s confidential documents by any party or other nonparty in this action,” according to People.

In the film, Reynolds plays Nicepool — a man-bunned “variant” who draws suspiciously close comparisons to Baldoni, down to the hairstyle. In one eyebrow-raising scene, Nicepool gushes about Lively’s character Ladypool, “Oh my goodness, wait till you’ve seen Ladypool. She is gorgeous. She just had a baby too and [you] can’t even tell.”

“I don’t think you’re supposed to say that,” Deadpool responds, but Nicepool shrugs, “That’s okay, I identify as a feminist.”

The moment was widely interpreted as a jab at Baldoni, who has often referred to himself as a feminist. It didn’t help that Lively had just given birth to her fourth child before filming 'It Ends With Us' - the adaptation directed by and starring Baldoni.

The lawsuit between Blake and Baldoni has been heating up since last December. Blake has accused her 'It Ends With Us' co-star of criticizing her body and weight following her postpartum return to set.
