Sabrina Carpenter hints at her role in NYC Mayor Eric Adams' indictment during Madison Square Garden show
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Sabrina Carpenter broke her silence about her role in the federal charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams at her recent concert in the Big Apple.
During a break between songs, while performing at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, September 29, the 25-year-old singer hinted she might have prompted the indictment of the Hizzoner.
"Should we talk about how I got the mayor indicted?" said Carpenter to a cheering crowd, according to Daily Mail.
This was the singer's first public remark about her alleged ties to Adams' federal corruption probe, which has been linked to her controversial music video 'Feather'.

Sabrina Carpenter's 'Feather' music video and Eric Adams' indictment
'Feather', released in October 2023, included shots of Sabrina Carpenter dressed provocatively at Brooklyn's Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church alongside scenes of men killing themselves and fake blood splattered on the singer.
The video irked the Brooklyn Diocese and led to the demotion of the Monsignor who gave permission to shoot it.
Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello initially held Carpenter responsible, saying she did not "accurately represent the video content." However, Bishop Robert Brennan, being "appalled" by the video, relieved the Monsignor of administrative duties.
The bishop asserted he would take the "matter seriously and will be looking into it further" through a "broader administrative review into the church."
Last week, federal investigators sent a subpoena to the church, seeking details about the "business dealings" involving Gigantiello and Adams' former chief of staff, Frank Carone, according to NBC New York.
Carone, who currently chairs the NYC Mayor's reelection campaign, was his chief of staff until his resignation in 2022.
In response to the probe, the Brooklyn Diocese said it was "fully committed to cooperating with law enforcement in all investigations, including conduct at individual parishes or involving any priest."
According to speculations, the diocese's remark about investigating individual priests might have brought into light Gigantiello's business dealings due to the controversy over Carpenter's video, which, in turn, supposedly led to Adams' indictment.
Gigantiello and Carone have been friends for decades and were seen together in photos, as per Politico. Carone helped the former in real estate investments, which are currently under investigation.
Adams was indicted last week on charges of wire fraud, getting campaign donations from foreign nationals, and federal program bribery. However, the Hizzoner, in a pre-recorded interview, said that the accusations against him were a result of his opposition to the Biden administration's response to the migrant crisis that strained the city's resources.
