NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Ty Cobb, a former White House lawyer under the Donald Trump administration, recently made a striking claim, alleging that Rudy Giuliani sacrificed his principles to defend the former president.

Cobb's remarks came after an Arizona grand jury indicted Giuliani and several other Trump allies on Wednesday, April 24, for their roles in a scheme to award the state's electoral votes to Trump instead of Joe Biden, the rightful winner, as per Mediaite.

Following the indictment, Cobb did not mince words when he appeared on CNN's 'OutFront' program, claiming that Giuliani had "sold his soul" in an effort to protect Trump from the consequences of his actions.

"I could see them fashioning this in a way that tries to scope in all the people who actually contacted fake electors, organized fake electors, helped policy-wise in terms of how they were going to do this," Cobb told CNN host Erin Burnett.

Cobb continued, "So, I think that’s– that seems to be the distinction that they use in identifying the people that they were going to mention in the indictment, either as unindicted co-conspirators or actual defendants."

The indictment named several other Trump allies, including former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, lawyers Jenna Ellis, John Eastman, and Christina Bobb, campaign adviser Boris Epshteyn, and ex-campaign aide Mike Roman.

They stand accused of participating in a failed scheme aimed at shifting the state's electoral votes in favor of Trump, contrary to the legitimate outcome favoring Biden.
