Savannah Guthrie posts faith message as search for missing mother Nancy continues
TUCSON, ARIZONA: Savannah Guthrie has shared that she believes in the power of God as she and her family go through a very difficult time. The broadcaster’s mother, Nancy, has been missing since February 1.
The 84-year-old woman was last seen on January 31, and since then a search operation has been ongoing. However, no person of interest has been identified yet despite video footage showing a person engaging in suspicious activity outside Nancy’s home around the time she went missing.

Savannah Guthrie posts faith message amid mother Nancy’s disappearance
Now, on Sunday, March 22, Savannah took to Instagram to post a picture of a religious painting, which included the words, “I believe, I believe.” The journalist did not add anything else to the post.
On the same day, a statement was also released by Savannah’s social media account
It read, “We continue to believe it is Tucsonans, and the greater Southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding resolution in this case. Someone knows something. It's possible a member of this community has information that they do not even realize is significant.”
Guthrie family urges community to search memories, recall key timelines
The statement further noted that the Guthrie family is hoping “people search their memories, especially around the key timelines of January 31 and the early morning hours of February 1, as well as the late evening of January 11.”
The family’s words also showed their dilemma and inability to move forward with their lives.
“We miss our mom with every breath and we cannot be in peace until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder. Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home. We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life. But we cannot do that until she is brought to a final place of rest,” the statement added.
Savannah Guthrie says her faith helps her navigate the world
Meanwhile, Savannah has been vocal about her faith earlier also. She even wrote a book — ‘Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere’ — which was published in 2024.
At the time, the 54-year-old reportedly said that it’s her faith that “makes me tick. It’s what makes me joyful. It’s what helps me navigate the world and stresses and disappointments and fears.”
Besides, ‘Today’ anchor Jenna Bush Hager shared last month, “What Nancy gave Savannah, but also her two other children, Cam and Annie, is this deep and abiding faith and goodness and hope and optimism and all the [reasons] why we love Savannah.”
