NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Singer/actress Selena Gomez looked glamorous in a classic black dress while attending the New York Film Festival premiere of her queer crime musical 'Emilia Perez', at Manhattan's Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall on Monday, September 30.

The 32-year-old Emmy nominee has seemingly joined the fashionable Ozempic train based on her slim figure in 2024 compared to her Golden Globes appearance in 2023, per Daily Mail.

The 'Only Murders in the Building' actress turned heads as she arrived at the latest NYC premiere of 'Emilia Perez', which also stars Zoe Saldana and Karla Sofia Gascon, on Monday, September 30.

Gomez wore an all-black Vera Wang dress with a large bow at the back and a small cowl neckline with detachable elbow-length black sleeves, styled by Erin Walsh, that completed the ensemble.

The backless dress had a sizable bow at the nape of the neck, and the singer's tall platform shoes significantly increased her 5ft 5in height. Gomez had two security guards with her, but her alleged fiance Benny Blanco was nowhere to be seen.

The two had donned coordinated sparkly all-black outfits to attend the 2024 Emmys, where Gomez celebrated her nominations for 'Only Murders in the Building's Best Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Gomez accessorized her look with a slick hairstyle, several glittering silver rings, and dangling diamond earrings while posing alongside Edgar Ramirez, Saldana, Adriana Paz, and Gascon.

The singer's latest look at the NYC Film Festival seemed different from her appearance while attending her first Golden Globe Awards show in 2023 where she made another style statement.

The 'Lose You to Love Me' singer stunned on the 2023 Golden Globes red carpet in a stunning Valentino gown that included a long train, a velvet column gown with a high slit, and striking puff sleeves, per People.

However, Gomez looked more voluptuous as compared to her recent toned appearance at the NYC premiere of her film 'Emilia Perez.'

Even though online rumors claim that the singer has hopped on the popular Ozempic track like other celebrities, Gomez has persistently blamed her medications for her weight fluctuation over the years.

The 'Only Murders in the Building' actress previously told her audience that staying healthy is what matters most and disclosed that her lupus treatments might cause her weight to fluctuate.

In a 2023 TikTok video, Gomez said, "When I’m taking it, I tend to hold a lot of water weight, and that happens very normally. When I’m off of it, I tend to kind of lose weight."

"I just wanted to say and encourage anyone out there who feels any sort of shame for exactly what they’re going through and no one knows the real story," she added.

The singer/actress stated that she is "not a model" and she "never will be." Gomez attempted to keep her eyes on the greater picture—her overall health—despite the toll it has taken on her mental state.

'Emilia Perez' follows the journey of four remarkable women

French director and screenwriter Jacques Audiard's Spanish-language movie-musical 'Emilia Perez' made its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May. The film won two prizes there, including best actress for its ensemble of women, per People.

The film synopsis reads: "Through liberating song and dance and bold visuals, this odyssey follows the journey of four remarkable women in Mexico, each pursuing their own happiness."

"The fearsome cartel leader Emilia enlists Rita (Saldana), an unappreciated lawyer stuck in a dead-end job, to help fake her death so that Emilia can finally live authentically as her true self."

Gomez has been stylishly endorsing the campaign ever since. She wore a black Rodarte dress with sequin rosette details and Tiffany & Co jewelry, styled by Erin Walsh, to the film's premiere on September 9 at the Toronto Film Festival.

"It was actually really interesting because I ultimately ended up getting to develop a character who is very similar to myself," she said at the time.

'Emilia Perez' will be released in theatres on November 1 and be available on Netflix from November 13.
