LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez has sparked excitement among fans by hinting at the possibility of her friend Taylor Swift making a cameo appearance in 'Only Murders in the Building'.

Although Hulu has yet to confirm the show's renewal for a fifth season, Gomez, who is both a star and executive producer of the series, expressed her eagerness for Swift to join the cast.

Selena Gomez reveals she’d love a Taylor Swift cameo in 'Only Murders in the Building'

In an interview, Selena Gomez told E! News, "Oh dear, I love that!" when asked about the idea of Taylor Swift appearing on the show.

However, she added with a laugh, "She's a little busy, you guys."

The playful banter continued as the show's creator and star, Steve Martin, chimed in with a humorous remark: "Listen, she calls us every day. Here - she's calling right now. Ahh, I'll take it later."

Martin's co-star, Martin Short, joined in the fun, saying, "No, I was talking to Taylor around 3 am."

Martin went on to highlight the strength of Gomez and Swift's friendship, which dates back to 2008. He praised both stars for their ability to handle public scrutiny with grace and wisdom, adding, "Taylor Swift handles everything perfectly and so does Selena. In the situations I've seen -politically, trolls, everything - she just seems to have a wisdom about how to do something quietly, effortlessly. And I know that you have to think about these things."

Reacting to Steve’s kind words, Selena commented, “I wish I was recording that to send to her.”

Swift's recent acting roles include parts in David O Russell’s 'Amsterdam' and Tom Hooper’s 'Cats,' as well as previous appearances in 'The Giver,' 'New Girl,' and 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.' She is currently taking a break from her highly successful Eras Tour, which will resume in October.

Gomez, who earns a significant salary for her role in 'Only Murders in the Building,' has been busy with multiple projects. She is set to compete for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards. Additionally, Gomez will star in Jacques Audiard’s 'Emilia Perez' and an upcoming biopic about Linda Ronstadt.

As for Swift, she is preparing for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, where she is nominated for ten trophies.
