LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Instagram account of Jonathan Owens, the NFL player and husband of world-renowned gymnast Simone Biles, has recently become the epicenter of a social media storm.

Owens has been on the receiving end of relentless trolling from fans following some controversial remarks about his wife.

Last week, the safety for the Green Bay Packers made some remarks on 'The Pivot' podcast.

He admitted that he was unaware of who Biles was when they first met and went on to controversially label himself as the 'real catch' in their relationship.

These comments have sparked outrage, given that Biles is widely recognized as one of the most accomplished female athletes in history.

Her fans are upset over these remarks, with a significant number expressing their displeasure on his social media page.

On Tuesday, December 26, Owens posted a picture of him and Biles, both donned in matching pajamas, celebrating the festive season in front of a Christmas tree.

This post surfaced just days after their appearance on 'The Pivot' podcast, which was the origin of the backlash against Simone Biles' husband. 

Consequently, users continued to express their disapproval of the Packers safety's comments in his comment section.

"seriously who is this guy??" a user commented on the post. 

"Simone Biles and some guy," added another. 

One user stated, "Wait who’s the guy? I only recognize Simone Biles the Olympic gold gymnast."

A user on Facebook commented, "Leave them alone, yeesh. She's his catch and he is hers. They married."

One person shared heartfelt words, "I’ve been with my wife 38 years and I love her. I left them to love each other stop putting up negative remarks and put a positive encouragement. Let them live their life."

"Get a life & let them live theirs," added another.
