MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Seth Meyers addressed the rights Donald Trump would lose owing to his conviction in the hush money trial during the Monday, June 10 episode of 'Late Night'.

The comedian highlighted how the former president could potentially be barred from associating with individuals who have criminal records, joking that it would be "bad news" for Melania Trump as she would need to spend more time with her husband.

In the last week of May, a New York jury found Trump guilty on all 34 charges of falsifying business records in the hush money trial. He is due to be sentenced on July 11 and faces up to four years behind bars.

During the episode, Meyers played a clip of the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan Barbara McQuade saying that Trump might be prohibited from associating with anyone with a criminal record and remarked, "But that’s everyone he knows," alluding to the numerous Trump associates who have served prison time.

Drawing a comparison between the former president and the executive producer of The Real Housewives franchise Andy Cohen, the comedian quipped, "Telling Donald Trump he can't associate with a criminal record is like telling Andy Cohen he can only associate with fake housewives. What do you want him to do? Make new, normal, non-criminal friends?"

A notable number of individuals closely associated with the former president have been sentenced to prison for various crimes, including contempt of Congress and campaign finance violations, as per Axios

Prominent examples include Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro, Michael Cohen, Paul Manafort, Allen Weisselberg, and George Papadopoulos.

Meyers continued, "You know who this is really bad news for? His family. Now he’s going to have to spend more time with them. Melania is probably so worried about this that she'll knock over a liquor store in broad daylight just to have a rap sheet."

Trump commented on his wife's well-being after his conviction, saying, "She's fine, but I think it's very hard for her," and noted that the situation is "tougher on them [his family] than it is on me," as per the BBC

A YouTube user expressed, "Of course it could've been worse for Melania. Fortunately in the latest, revised prenup she got the addendum which stipulated she has the right to refuse Donald's requests for conjugal visits."

"There go his besties, Rudy, Bannon and Stone!" quipped a person, and someone else added, "Trump won't be able to associate with anyone with a criminal record.... Well, there goes all his cabinet picks."

An individual praised the late-night host saying, "Seth Meyers has, for some time now, become an absolute badass. Talk about a guy who found his niche. One of the few people who make me laugh out loud."

"Can’t associate with criminals? Yikes! That’s everyone he knows! Including previous lawyers and campaign leaders," opined one more.
