Shania Twain shares secret behind her 15-year marriage to her 'true love' Frederic Thiebaud

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Shania Twain has now disclosed how she and her husband of fifteen years, Frederic Thiebaud, are still going strong.

The pop icon married the Swiss businessman, 55, in 2011 in Rincon, Puerto Rico. She was earlier married to record producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange. But the marriage ended in 2010. The ex-couple share a son named Eja Lange.

Now, during a recent interview with PEOPLE, Twain praised her “forever true love” Thiebaud for being “really good at reminding both of us that we have to keep communication open.” 

“He’s the greatest talker, and he’s not inhibited at all when expressing his feelings, which is really wonderful in a man,” she said, before adding, “If you have a man that is really open and wants to keep the communication open, you’re blessed as a woman.”

The 60-year-old Canadian singer revealed that if she faces any marital problems, she likes to “meditate over the issue, take a walk or be alone with [her] guitar.”

But her 55-year-old husband is the opposite, as he likes to clear the issues through communication. “Fred wants to talk about it. He wants to talk it through, and he wants to fix it. And that’s the best advice. I mean, he’s not wrong,” Twain asserted.

Further taking pride in her successful marriage, the ‘Queen of Country Pop’ gushed, “This is the love I’m going to grow old with, and it’s a beautiful feeling.”

“I’m sure we’ll always have romance, but there’s a depth and a gratitude that I have about having this love. And if I [had] met Fred as a teenager, I do believe that he would have been my lifelong love even from then. It just takes sometimes years to find that person,” the ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman!’ hitmaker added.

This came a few years after Twain reflected on her first marriage and its painful end.

She reportedly shared, “That is a really strong bond that builds over time, that is rare, that you don’t have in every relationship if you don’t have those deep scars in common. We were a big part of each other’s healing.”

“When I got divorced, I said, ‘I’m never getting married again.’ I was definitely one of those people that could have written a million songs about, ‘I’m never going to fall in love again.’ But Fred was such an undeniable love,” Twain had claimed.
