CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Mayor of Chicago Brandon Johnson, on Saturday, October 4, in an interview on MSNBC, went after the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, in response to what he called her “delusional” claims that protesters in Illinois’ most populous city were threatening to harm federal agents and their families.

In a video shared by conservative media personality Benny Johnson on Friday, Noem said, "Today, when we leave here, we're gonna go hard. We're gonna hammer these guys that are advocating for violence against the American People."

Kristi Noem claims protesters are advocating harm against federal agents and their families

In the video filmed in Chicago, Kristi Noem was seen addressing the federal agents regarding the alleged attacks on them over President Donald Trump's crackdown on the city.

The DHS secretary claimed, "What they are doing is advocating to harm not just you and your colleagues, but your families, and they're doxxing your identities and victimizing people every day by the way that they are talking, speaking, who they're affiliated with, who they're funded with, and what they are talking about as far as consequences for what we are doing by protecting this country."

"We’re going to go out there and we’re going to make sure there’s consequences for the way that they’re behaving, and then we’re going to prosecute them, we’re going to bring them to justice, and we’re not going to take this anymore," Noem vowed.

Brandon Johnson dismisses Kristi Noem's claims as 'completely delusional'

Brandon Johnson, however, dismissed Kristi Noem’s claims and alleged that she had “no idea what she’s talking about” while appearing on MSNBC.

Johnson further went on to explain, “First of all, she has no idea what she's talking about. The Trump administration they are completely delusional right now, and what they are promulgating in this particular moment is not just unconstitutional measures, but they're dangerous and reckless."

He further expanded and said, "It's antithetical to who we are as a nation… This president has worked hard to relitigate the Civil War, and we're not going to stand for it!”

Johnson further shared that he received no communication from the Trump administration regarding the deployment of federal officers and National Guard to the city.

Brandon Johnson argued that Donald Trump's deployment of troops isn't about cracking down on crime, but rather about profit.

“This is not about deportation, this is not about community safety, this is, quite frankly, about for-profit,” Johnson said.

He further accused White House Border Czar Tom Homan of accepting a $50,000 bribe.

This was supposedly in exchange for a promise to award government contracts, potentially for private prisons seeking to secure lucrative contracts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“The President of the United States of America has declared war on poor people, and if there was ever a time for working people to stand up across this world, the time is now!” Johnson concluded.
