‘She's just like his fan club’: Natalie Harp’s brother calls her bond with Trump ‘unhealthy’
WASHINGTON, DC: The estranged brother of Natalie Harp has publicly raised concerns about her close relationship with Donald Trump, describing the bond between the longtime aide and the president as "unhealthy."

Natalie Harp’s brother calls Trump ‘national embarrassment’
Harp’s estranged brother Preston, who has left the US behind for Nicaragua, told Daily Mail that he doesn't understand how she works for the president.
The 38-year-old, who is described by the Mail as a “long-haired hippie,” called the President a “national embarrassment” and his sister is “just like his fan club."
The siblings became estranged in 2020 following the tragic death of their father, Robert Harp, who died by suicide, according to an Orange County coroner in California.
Preston Harp said his father's death triggered a deep family rift, leaving him estranged from both his sister and his mother, whom he described as "deeply religious." He also claimed that several other relatives have since cut ties with the pair.
Preston Harp revealed that he first discovered his sister was working for Trump after a friend showed him a news article about it in 2023.
"I had no idea," he told the outlet, adding, "And so it just kind of caused some cognitive dissonance…I don't understand why my sister, or anyone, could want to work for Trump."
White House defends Natalie Harp
Harp first caught President Trump's attention in 2019 after appearing on Fox News, where she praised him for signing the federal "Right to Try" law, which allows terminally ill patients to access experimental treatments.
Her good words helped her again a speaking slot at the Republican National Convention in August 2020. Since then, Harp has been working closely with the President.
According to a new book, Regime Change, by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, New York Times reporters, before she joined his campaign team in 2022, Harp would leave adoring letters to Mr Trump in his “personal spaces.” One note allegedly read: “You are all that matters to me.”
The Secret Service reportedly considered Ms Harp’s letters and extreme attachment to Mr Trump a “potential danger to herself as well as the president,” according to Michael Wolff’s 2025 book, All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America
Trump also returned the favour by treating Harp as his daughter, the New York Times reported. According to Haberman’s book, Trump told his team early in his second term that Harp “was the only one who loved him as much as his wife and his kids.”
