Simone Biles faces terrifying moment on first honeymoon with Jonathan Owens 2 years after marriage

GREATER KRUGER, SOUTH AFRICA: Simone Biles had a heart-stopping moment during her honeymoon in South Africa with NFL star Jonathan Owens when she came face-to-face with a lion.

The couple, who officially wed in April 2023, finally took their long-awaited honeymoon on February 16, celebrating their union with an adventurous trip abroad.

During their trip, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens embarked on a safari, where they encountered a lion up close. Biles also playfully termed her honeymoon as "first game drive."

Sharing the thrilling moment with her Instagram followers, Biles admitted to feeling scared, captioning a snapshot of the animal, "Not gonna lie I almost s**t myself."

In addition to the lion, the couple spotted other wildlife, including leopards, giraffes, and zebras.

They also posed for pictures with an elephant, further capturing their unforgettable experience in South Africa.

After arriving in South Africa, Simone Biles shared a celebratory photo of them toasting with champagne at their luxurious accommodation.

Reflecting on their delayed honeymoon, she wrote, "Off to our honeymoon. 2 years later."

Shortly after landing, she reassured fans of their safe arrival with another update, "Made it to South Africa," as per The Mirror.

Their vacation also included a couples massage and cocktails, as seen in several snapshots.

Dressed in safari attire, Biles shared a selfie from their adventure, captioning it, "just a happy camper."

Simone Biles expresses pride in Jonathan Owens' NFL journey

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens both had an eventful year in 2024. Biles won four medals, including three gold, at the Summer Olympics in Paris while Owens transitioned to a new team after signing a two-year contract with Chicago last March.

Following the NFL season, Biles bid farewell to Chicago where Owens played his first season with the Bears, writing on Instagram, "Farewell to our time in Chicago see you in a few months."

She also expressed her unwavering support for her husband’s career, sharing a heartfelt message, "Will support my man till the very end. Proud of you 36! Year 7 in the books. I love you so much, baby."
