LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Simu Liu stood up for his co-star Jennifer Lopez after a journalist interrupted a panel discussion on their upcoming flick ‘Atlas'.

The stars were in Mexico City on Wednesday, May 22, and as they were talking about Netflix's sci-fi movie, a journalist asked Lopez, "Is your divorce with Ben Affleck real? These rumors?"

Liu stepped in and immediately responded with, "Okay we're not doing that... Thank you so much guys, we really appreciate it. Thank you."

Meanwhile, Lopez told the reporter with a laugh, "You know better than that."

Liu added, "C'mon, don't come in with that energy, please."

The 35-year-old got his focus back to the press conference, "If I could just end on one thing. Jen is a producer on this movie and the reason why I am here and why Sterling [K Brown] was in this beautiful movie is because Jen cares.”

“And Jen cares about things like representation and diversity, and she's a boss," he said.

The reporter’s interruption came amid multiple claims that Lopez and Affleck’s marriage is presently on the rocks. 

As per media outlets, both have been living apart for months now.

Affleck was spotted in Santa Monica, California on May 21, wearing his wedding ring.

"He was in a great mood. He seemed very relaxed and happy. Everyone chatted and seemed to enjoy," a source told People.

Another insider spilled, "He's professional and shows up early on the set," referencing Affleck’s current movie project ‘The Accountant 2’.

"He seems focused and ready to work when he arrives. He looks very happy and is super friendly with everyone on set," the insider added.

Lopez and Affleck tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022.
