NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'Saturday Night Live' (SNL) took center stage again with its signature comedic take on politics and pop culture, blending the two in a clever 'Family Feud' parody.

In the episode, both Democrats and Republicans were portrayed in a lighthearted game show format that drew plenty of laughs, poking fun at Vice President Kamala Harris and making unexpected references to the recent 'Joker' sequel.

The hilarious skit was packed with political humor and iconic character impersonations, setting the stage for another viral moment in the history of 'SNL,' as per Variety.

In the cold open, Kenan Thompson, as host Steve Harvey, introduced two teams—one representing the Democrats and the other, the Republicans.

The Democratic side featured Maya Rudolph reprising her role as Vice President Kamala Harris, along with Jim Gaffigan as Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Andy Samberg portraying Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, and Dana Carvey as President Joe Biden.

Their opponents, representing the Republicans, included James Austin Johnson’s Donald Trump, Mikey Day’s Donald Trump Jr, and Bowen Yang portraying Ohio Senator JD Vance.

The humor kicked off immediately when Thompson, as Harvey, posed the question, “Name something you keep in your glove compartment.”

Maya Rudolph's Harris was quick to respond, in a nod to a recent viral interview moment of the vice president, by offering a hilarious answer: “A Glock.”

Harris recently revealed in a '60 Minutes' interview that she owns a Glock and has had it "for quite some time", according to Newsweek.

Rudolph's Harris, continuing the satire, said, "Steve, look, I was raised in a middle-class family. My mother raised my sister and me. She worked hard and saved up, and we had a second mother, too. A small business owner named Ms Shelton."

As the audience laughed, Thompson’s Harvey urged her to give an actual answer to the question. Rudolph’s Harris finally responded, “Oh, a Glock, Steve. A big ol' Glock,” causing the crowd to erupt in laughter.

The sketch continued with more political digs, not sparing the Republicans. Yang’s portrayal of Vance took a comedic shot at the recent 'Joker: Folie a Deux', a film that has generated substantial buzz, especially with Lady Gaga in the cast.

In a hilarious twist, Yang's Vance blamed liberals for supposedly ruining the film by turning the Joker into “a gay guy who's obsessed with Lady Gaga".

"Steve, can I just say it's so refreshing to be on a show that celebrates families. Unlike the Democrats who turned our hero the Joker into a gay guy who's obsessed with Lady Gaga," Yang said, his deadpan delivery adding to the comedic effect.
