Snoop joined the men's basketball team on its bus and train journey to Lille where the group phase games are being played.

The hip-hop icon played music while traveling with best NBA players in America who are now in the Olympics.

He started with the 'Super Fly' soundtrack, a classic by Curtis Mayfield released in 1972.

“LeBron, naturally, nodded his head, because he understands old school,” Snoop said reffering to LeBron James, American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA taking competing in Paris Olympics.

“But I had to switch it up, I had to put on some rap, because [22-year-old Timberwolves player] Anthony Edwards was sitting right next to me, and he’s not moving. Let me get him to move,” Snoop Dogg added.

Snoop Dogg felt a sense of brotherhood among US basketball players

Snoop Dogg felt a sense of brotherhood among the players despite their competing teams in the NBA.

“I felt a lot of brotherhood, of camaraderie. I felt them ego-checking themselves at the door,” Snoop said.

"I think they know what this is. They know that this team was put together reminiscent of ‘The Dream Team,’ the spirit of having the best of the best represent the country,” he said, adding “It’s not about me; it’s about we.”

Snoop Dogg carried the Olympic Torch during opening ceremony

Snoop Dogg joined the torch relay during the opening ceremony on Friday, July 26, carrying the Olympic flame through the streets of Saint-Denis, a suburb north of Paris.

He was accompanied by French actress Laetitia Casta and French rapper MC Solaar, among other cultural figures. They marked the 67th leg of the flame's journey.

In a post-ceremony interview, Snoop shared his thoughts on the experience.

"I felt like Muhammad Ali," Snoop said. "I found out that when you hold the torch, you're a peace messenger," he added.

"I was waving, shaking hands, kissing the babies — doing what I do, you understand me? Putting my foot in the pavement, letting the people know that we're here. We're here for peace, love, unity and great sportsmanship," he continued.
