Snoop Dogg declares himself MVP of Paris 2024 Olympics, Internet says 'his smile is contagious'
PARIS, FRANCE: Special NBC Olympics correspondent Snoop Dogg has been all over the games, carrying the torch and getting a swimming lesson from Michael Phelps.
The 'Drop It Like It's Hot' hitmaker has also traveled by bus and train with the US men’s basketball team. Snoop Dogg has declared himself as the MVP (most valuable player) of the Olympics Games.

Snoop Dogg has been enjoying his time at the Paris 2024 Olympics even though he admits it has been a busy schedule.
"Man, this is a grind out here," Snoop told NBC on Wednesday, July 31. "But I’m having so much fun," he added.

Snoop joined the men's basketball team on its bus and train journey to Lille where the group phase games are being played.
The hip-hop icon played music while traveling with best NBA players in America who are now in the Olympics.
He started with the 'Super Fly' soundtrack, a classic by Curtis Mayfield released in 1972.
“LeBron, naturally, nodded his head, because he understands old school,” Snoop said reffering to LeBron James, American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA taking competing in Paris Olympics.
“But I had to switch it up, I had to put on some rap, because [22-year-old Timberwolves player] Anthony Edwards was sitting right next to me, and he’s not moving. Let me get him to move,” Snoop Dogg added.

Snoop Dogg felt a sense of brotherhood among the players despite their competing teams in the NBA.
“I felt a lot of brotherhood, of camaraderie. I felt them ego-checking themselves at the door,” Snoop said.

"I think they know what this is. They know that this team was put together reminiscent of ‘The Dream Team,’ the spirit of having the best of the best represent the country,” he said, adding “It’s not about me; it’s about we.”
Snoop Dogg carried the Olympic Torch during opening ceremony
Snoop Dogg joined the torch relay during the opening ceremony on Friday, July 26, carrying the Olympic flame through the streets of Saint-Denis, a suburb north of Paris.
He was accompanied by French actress Laetitia Casta and French rapper MC Solaar, among other cultural figures. They marked the 67th leg of the flame's journey.

In a post-ceremony interview, Snoop shared his thoughts on the experience.
"I felt like Muhammad Ali," Snoop said. "I found out that when you hold the torch, you're a peace messenger," he added.
"I was waving, shaking hands, kissing the babies — doing what I do, you understand me? Putting my foot in the pavement, letting the people know that we're here. We're here for peace, love, unity and great sportsmanship," he continued.
