PARIS, FRANCE: Snoop Dogg continues to make headlines at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

On Wednesday, August 7, the 52-year-old hip-hop icon surprised the winners of the women’s 200-meter final for Track and Field with a congratulatory phone call.

Snoop Dogg has been serving as a special ambassador for the NBC during major sports events.

Snoop told the champions, "Great job, ladies! Great job!" during the call as captured in a Facebook video shared on the official Team USA Track and Field account.

The video featured Gabby Thomas who won a gold medal for the US, Julien Alfred who took home silver for Saint Lucia, and Brittany Brown, the bronze winner who is also from the US.

During the conversation, Brown excitedly shared a personal connection with Snoop Dogg, telling him, "Snoop Dogg, I know you have a team in Pomona, Calif. I’m from Pomona … I’m just letting you know I’m from Pomona. IE, Pomona," People reported.

Snoop replied, “You already know — most definitely. Y’all made me proud today.”

Snoop Dogg shines as NBC's special correspondent in Paris

As NBC's 'special correspondent' during the games, the 'West Coast' rapper, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, has been at the front and center in Paris.

From carrying the Olympic torch to dancing with horses in the equestrian events, Snoop has also shown up for Simone Biles and the US gymnastics team.

Additionally, the rapper received swimming lessons from legendary US Olympian Michael Phelps.

On Saturday, August 3, Snoop also celebrated Martha Stewart's 83rd birthday at the equestrian team dressage event where they sported matching riding helmets, jackets, white pants, and coordinated sunglasses.

"Snoop called me, and he knows I love horses," Stewart said in an interview with Today, adding, "He's a little fearful of horses." Snoop also surprised her with a cake before the event.

Internet reacts to Snoop Dogg's Olympic involvement with Track and Field women's team

Snoop Dogg's presence at the Paris 2024 Olympics has not only been a treat for athletes but has also caught the attention of fans online.

"He's been the best part of the Olympics," one person wrote on Facebook. Another added, "Wonderful."

"Snoop is epic!! He’s the only one having fun in Paris. Go Gabby!!" commented another fan.

"This is how you uplift the next generation of legends. Good stuff," one more fan commented.

However, not all reactions were positive. Some critics wrote, "Oooh, block that number." Another said, "Snoop Dogg is a creep." One more chimed in, "Can't stand this druggie."

Despite mixed reactions, the rapper's involvement has been lucrative. By the time the Paris 2024 Olympics reaches its climax, Snoop Dogg is expected to leave with a cool £12 million ($15.32 million), earning himself £393,000 ($501,951) per day in the French capital, according to the Mirror.
