NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Sofia Vergara has reportedly been shaken up by the accusation of her 'Modern Family' co-star, Kelly Mantle, who labeled her the "rudest celebrity," an insider revealed to Life & Style.
Mantle, who guest starred in the 2019 episode 'The Last Halloween', opened up about Vergara's behavior on set and accused her of acting like a Hollywood princess behind the scenes during an appearance on the podcast 'The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie and Katya' in January 2025.

During the podcast, Kelly Mantle described the actress as the "rudest celebrity" she has ever encountered and added that being on set with her "was not the most pleasant experience I’ve ever experienced," per the outlet.
Moreover, she clarified that Sofia's ire "wasn’t toward me," but said, "It was the way that some of her staff were being treated" that made her cringe.
An insider close to the 'Griselda' star, said, "Sofía is dumbfounded by this" and "she really doesn’t understand where this is coming from, or why it’s coming out now."
The source added, "This person is accusing her of being rude five years ago, nothing was said to her at the time, not to mention they appeared on one episode, how can they even judge her from that brief experience?"
During the podcast, Kelly said, "They yell action, and I’m supposed to put the crown on her hair. So I put the crown on, and then they say cut, and she's like, 'Watch out for the wig! You’re putting the crown on my head!'"
Kelly claimed that Vergara said to her, "Well, girl, you should have put those bobby pins in" referencing Vergara's initial refusal to secure her costume wig with bobby pins as recommended by the hair and makeup people, per the outlet.
Interestingly, Kelly acknowledged, "Maybe it was a bad day. I’m just going to say it was a bad day. Because she’s hilarious and beautiful, and talented, and gorgeous. I’m sure it was a bad day."
However, as per the insider, Mantle's story could affect Sofía’s reputation and it is more frustrating for her, especially because she considers many of the people she works with to be her friends.
The source explained, "Sofia made so many good friends on that show, and had nothing but good experiences, so it’s very upsetting that this random day player is coming out with these sour grapes and trying to take her down with these random accusations about her being this mega diva."
They added, "Sofia speaks her mind, so you better believe she’ll address this one way or another. She doesn’t put up with this sort of thing lightly."

Sofia Vergara sparked fresh romance rumors with seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, after a lunch date with the British driver in New York City on January 14.
Vergara was spotted in a good mood as she joined Hamilton and friends at a restaurant in the Big Apple. The duo sat next to each other during the two-hour outing, according to the New York Post.
Notably, Onlookers informed TMZ that Vergara was so involved in the table talk that she barely touched the food on the plate in front of her.
The duo were later seen beaming as they conversed with one another on the sidewalk outside the restaurant, per the outlet.
