But despite the buzz, sources close to the pair have told Page Six that any potential for romance has hit a red light.

According to the insider, the age difference between Sofia Vergara and Lewis Hamilton is a potential obstacle.

“She thinks there’s too big an age gap,” shared an insider. “Even he thinks she’s looking for something else in a guy," they added.

While the 12-year age difference (Vergara is 52, Hamilton just turned 40) may not seem insurmountable to some, it appears the two are in very different chapters of their lives.

Vergara, who is fresh off her second divorce from actor Joe Manganiello, is currently riding a career high with Netflix’s critically acclaimed 'Griselda', where she not only starred but also served as co-producer.

Hamilton, on the other hand, is in a transitional phase, having recently left his long-term racing team and contemplating retirement after a storied career.

“They got along well but they both know they’re on different paths," added the source.

This revelation comes after the two were spotted on a flirty date recently.

The New York meet-up, reported by TMZ, took place at a trendy restaurant on Tuesday, January 14, where Sofia Vergara and Lewis Hamilton sat side by side by a window.

Witnesses claimed Vergara “barely touched her food” during the outing because she was so engaged in conversation with the British racer.

After finishing their meals, they stepped out together for some one-on-one time.

Photos captured the duo looking undeniably flirty, sharing laughs and engaging in close conversation while standing side by side.

Eventually, Vergara headed to her car and left the scene.

Vergara stunned in her signature bombshell style, rocking a skintight, one-shoulder black top tucked into wide-leg blue jeans with frayed hems.

She elevated the look with black heels, a long white coat, and a classic black quilted Chanel bag.

Her accessories—large rose-tinted sunglasses, a diamond necklace, and sparkling rings—added a touch of glam to the ensemble.

The F1 driver embraced a laid-back yet edgy vibe with a caramel-brown flannel layered under a chocolate-brown, workwear-inspired jacket.

He paired it with baggy, paint-splattered jeans for a construction-core aesthetic.

To top it off, he sported light-brown suede boots, a fuzzy brown bucket hat, and chunky black sunglasses, effortlessly exuding cool.

While the evening sparked plenty of chatter, insiders insist there are no plans for a follow-up one-on-one date.

Sofia Vergara recently told Access Hollywood she was hoping for “health, money [and] a boyfriend” in the new year, cheekily adding, “Or a lover, maybe.”

Just a few months ago, she described herself as “kind of single” after being seen with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman multiple times.

The 'Modern Family' star went public with Saliman in October 2023, just three months after ending her seven-year marriage to Joe Manganiello.

But this romance was shortlived as toward the end of last year, Vergara said she was single.

"Actually, I was talking yesterday about it because now I’m single so … kind of single," she told Us Weekly in October 2024.

She also reflected on the unique charm of New York, saying, “There’s a more diverse group of people in New York than in LA because most of the people are in the entertainment business".
