While he loves being the "fun uncle" to his brother's two little girls, Manganiello emphasized on the podcast, "It's something that's definitely on the docket, you know, at some point."
"You mean to have kids?" The 'Gossip Girl' actor asked for clarification, to which Manganiello confirmed, "Yeah. For sure."
"That was never not on the table," said the 47-year-old, referring to his recent divorce from his wife of seven years, Vergara, which partly stemmed from the 'Modern Family' actress not wanting to have another child.
"At every stage in life that was always, you know, that was something that was always talked about. That was always on the forefront of any serious relationship that I got into," Manganiello emphasized. "I've always wanted to be a father."
Additionally, the 'True Blood' star humorously remarked that he has "big dad energy," saying, "I believe I have a lot to offer in that area."
Perhaps Manganiello's girlfriend, Caitlin O'Connor, whom he met in September 2023 can help him fulfill his dream of becoming a father.
Manganiello and O'Connor, who is approximately 13 years younger than him, are reportedly planning a family together.
When did Sofia Vergara divorce Joe Manganiello?
Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello split in July 2023 after nearly eight years of marriage, releasing a joint statement announcing their "difficult decision" to divorce.
Ever since their split, she set the record straight about her divorce, revealing that the split from Joe Manganiello was largely due to their differing views on having kids.
Keeping it real about the heart of the matter, she said, "I’m newly divorced from my second husband [actor Joe Manganiello], who I was with for 10 years. My marriage broke up because my husband was younger."
"He wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom. I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore," she added.
"We have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple said in a statement shared with Page Six. "As two people who love and care for one another very much, we respectfully ask for privacy as we navigate this new phase of our lives."
Vergara shared that she had her son at just 19, and now that he's 31, she's more interested in being a "grandmother, not a mother."
She had her son, Manolo, born in Colombia on September 16, 1991 with her ex-husband Joe Gonzalez.
"I’m almost in menopause; it’s the natural way of things. When my son becomes a dad, let him bring the baby to me for a while, and then I’ll give it back to him and go on with my life; that’s what I have to do," she told Spanish newspaper El Pais, according to Fox 10.
