Martin's name circulated online as a prime candidate to play Walz, alongside other notable actors such as Jim O'Heir of 'Parks and Reactions', John Goodman, Danny DeVito, and Jim Gaffigan.

Despite the enthusiasm, there's a potential scheduling conflict that would likely make it difficult for Martin to be part of the 'SNL' production.
The 78-year-old comedian is set to embark on his ongoing 'The Dukes of Funnytown' tour with Martin Short.
The tour, which includes several weekend stops across multiple states, coincides with the 2024 presidential election season, potentially complicating Martin's availability for 'SNL', according to Entertainment Weekly.
