Taylor Swift’s potential stake in Kansas City Chiefs gets NFL official’s nod amid Travis Kelce romance
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: According to prominent NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, pop star Taylor Swift might soon be eligible to own part of the Kansas City Chiefs, the NFL team her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, plays for.
Swift's possible investment has been the subject of conjecture since NFL legend Tom Brady was recently granted permission to acquire a portion of the Las Vegas Raiders.
According to a recent report, Swift, who has a net worth of $1.6 billion, has reportedly been given permission to purchase stock in the Kansas City Chiefs, per Daily Mail.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell gives Taylor Swift green light to purchase Chiefs' stake
The billionaire club 'Lover' singer has been showing up at NFL stadiums for about a year to cheer on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Swift, 34, might now deal with the unthinkable challenge of owning the NFL franchise as NFL commissioner Roger Goodell also appeared to have no issue with the singer investing in the Kansas City team.
After over a year of waiting, NFL legend Brady was finally granted permission to acquire a portion of the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday, October 15.
Following Brady's move, Goodell was questioned about whether Swift would be permitted to acquire a portion of the Chiefs after the plan made headlines in the sports media.
Goodell told Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated that if the 'Fortnight' singer is interested, she can. He said, "If she's interested, I think she has the ability to do it."
Swift has greatly increased the NFL's and the Chiefs' prominence since she started dating Kelce in 2023 summer. Swift's meteoric rise to the status of a billionaire follows the success of her Eras Tour, which according to Pollstar has brought in over $1 billion.
Moreover, she has grown to be an avid NFL fan, having watched Kelce play in 13 games last season, including Kansas City's February Super Bowl victory in Las Vegas. Swift has been to three games this season, per The US Sun.

"Travis Kelce will work for her…no good .. not going to happen.." chimed in another.
Another said, "As someone who grew up in KC and has been a fan of Chiefs since Lenny Dawson and playing at the old stadium, NO THANKS!"
