Taylor Swift’s snake necklace at iHeartRadio Music Awards 2025 sparks theories as she avoids spotlight

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift appeared virtually at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2025, wearing a snake necklace, sparking buzz over the much-anticipated ‘Reputation (Taylor’s Version)’. 

Since Swift has started reclaiming her work by re-recording her albums, fans have been waiting eagerly for her to re-record the ‘Reputation’ album, which originally debuted in 2017. 

While the 35-year-old Grammy-winning songstress is yet to confirm, fans are convinced that Swift - who has long established her reputation as an Easter egg queen - has something up her sleeves.

Amid the strong online chatter regarding the ‘Lover’ singer having gone into hiding following her 2025 Grammy snub, and her beau Travis Kelce’s team Kansas City Chiefs’ humiliating Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Swift chose to skip the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday, March 17, evening, as reported by Page Six.

The songstress who ruled the iHeartRadio Awards list with ten nods, including the Artist of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Lyrics, also took home the award for the Tour of the Century honor for her record-breaking Eras Tour. 

Though the songstress didn’t attend the award show in person, she accepted the trophy virtually. For the recorded video message, the ‘Cassandra’ singer appeared in a plaid mini skirt from Miu Miu paired with a fitted black top. 

However, what grabbed all the attention of fans was a dainty choker necklace featuring a snake pendant, which instantly reminded them of her Reputation Era. 

The reptile has become an intrinsic part of that era after Kim Kardashian compared Swift to a snake during their infamous feud in 2016, involving the SKIMS founder’s then-husband, Kanye West. 

Nevertheless, the ‘Miss Americana’ star soon reclaimed the reptile and made the snake the unofficial mascot of her 2017 ‘Reputation’ album, which she released after months of staying away from the spotlight. 

Thus, fans can’t help but draw similarities between the time when the album was initially released, and now - when the buzz for ‘Reputation (Taylor’s Version)’ is greater than ever. 

Since the news emerged that Swift has been “laying low” following an abysmal start to the new year, Swifties have been postulating possible theories behind her apparent hiding. 

While plastic surgery emerged as a favorable contender, fans are also hypothesizing about the possibility of ‘Reputation TV’ on the horizon. 

Swift wearing the snake necklace in the iHeartRadio video only strengthened the speculations. 

Die-hard Swiftie and hip-hop star Flavor Flav too appeared to notice the ornament, as he took to his social media to pen, “That necklace tho 👀 If ya know ya know.”

Taylor Swift's fans were left in a frenzy as the songstress wore a snake necklace while virtually accepting the iHeartRadio Music Award for Tour of the century. Soon the necklace became a hit among fans, with Swifties convinced the ornament is an Easter egg for 'Reputation (TV)'. 

A fan teased, "Now why would she wear a snake necklace out of all of her other necklaces hmmmmmm."

"Is the snake necklace in the room with us? Get your eyes checked," quipped someone else. 

Another fan noted, "Tbh it definitely is because she knows we’re insane and she wouldn’t wear anything similar unless she wanted us to think that."

"That's a snake necklace," noted another fan, before asking, "Taylor why are you wearing a snake necklace?!?!?"
