Taylor Swift’s wedding gown is inspired by Elizabeth Taylor’s 1950 vintage bridal look: Reports
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Taylor Swift is gearing up for her wedding, and the excitement around it continues to grow. A new detail that has surfaced is drawing major attention- her wedding dress.
While all eyes remain on Swift and her marriage to Travis Kelce, it is her bridal look that is now making headlines. The gown she is expected to wear is said to take inspiration from a legendary piece of fashion history.
The dress reportedly draws cues from the first wedding gown worn by Elizabeth Taylor when she married Conrad Hilton in 1950. That iconic Hollywood bridal moment is now being reimagined as inspiration for Swift’s own big day.
Swift, known for her track 'The Fate of Ophelia', is also said to be planning her wedding for July 3 in New York City, following her engagement to Kelce in 2025.
Taylor Swift’s bridal look takes inspiration from Elizabeth Taylor
As per the Daily Mail, the pattern and overall design influence of Elizabeth Taylor’s wedding dress will play a major role in shaping Swift’s bridal look. The singer has often expressed admiration for the Cleopatra star.
Swift is said to be such a fan of Taylor that she even wrote a song titled 'Elizabeth Taylor' for her latest album, 'The Life of a Showgirl'.
A source told the publication, “Taylor spent so much time looking at old photos of Elizabeth Taylor when she was making her music video for that song that she became enamored with the movie queen’s style.” The source added, “So when she started thinking about her wedding dress, she looked up Elizabeth’s old gowns online.”
The insider further noted that Swift was especially drawn to Taylor’s 1950 wedding dress because it was “old-fashioned and came in at the waistline,” and she is also fond of its lace detailing.
Even Swift’s song dedicated to Taylor reflects the actress’ famously public love life. The lyrics include, “All my white diamonds and lovers are forever / In the papers, on the screen, and in their minds.” She also sings, “I’d cry my eyes violet, Elizabeth Taylor / Tell me for real, do you think it’s forever?”
