Internet mocks Donald Trump as he claims he 'purposely' mixed up Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi
NORTH CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA: Former President Donald Trump claimed he purposely mixed up GOP presidential opponent Nikki Haley with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during a campaign speech in New Hampshire in January, reported Daily Mail.
The Republican frontrunner's gaffe made headlines as he claimed the former South Carolina Governor was in charge of security during the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021.
Addressing voters at a North Charleston, South Carolina, on Wednesday, February 14, Trump claimed he was being sarcastic when he pointed fingers at Haley for the Capitol insurrection.
"So it's very hard to be sarcastic when I interpose. I'm not a Nicki fan, and I'm not a Pelosi fan. And when I purposely interposed names, they said, 'He didn't know Pelosi from Nikki, from tricky Nikki," the ex-president said.

Trump will next face the former UN Ambassador, his only in-party opponent in the South Carolina primary, the latter's home state, on February 24. According to opinion polls analyses by FiveThirtyEight, the former president is leading in the Palmetto state with a dominant majority.
Donald Trump put stop to speculations on Nikki Haley's VP ticket
Trump, who has been on a continuous spree of attacks against Haley, denounced any possibility of her as his Vice President choice.
"I interpose and they make a big deal out of it. I said, 'No, no, I think they both stink, they have something in common they both stink.' Remember this. When I make a statement like that about Nikki that means she will never be running for vice president," the former President stated.
Trump also brushed aside concerns about his cognitive ability regarding confusing President Joe Biden with former President Barack Obama.
"When I say that Obama is the president of our country they go, 'He doesn't know that it's Biden! He doesn't know," he said, adding his remarks were sarcastic.

Haley, right from the beginning of her campaign, advocated against both Biden and Trump, claiming their age makes them incapable of carrying out presidential duties. She also demanded the former President, who is 77, to, do a cognitive test.
Furthermore, a recent special counsel report questioning the 81-year-old incumbent's memory also prompted her to ask him to do the test.
Internet ridicules Trump
Internet mocked the former President for coming up with an explanation for his gaffe, indicating he was losing it.
