DENVER, COLORADO: Jayson Boebert, former spouse of Rep Lauren Boebert, R-Colo, was arrested on Tuesday, January 9, facing six charges, one of which includes an alleged assault on their 18-year-old son.

These charges emerged following an incident three days prior, when Jayson reported a physical confrontation between him and the congresswoman at Miner's Claim Restaurant.

He accused her of hitting him in the face multiple times, per The Daily Beast. However, the police had absolved Lauren Boebert of the accusations related to the punching incident.

"Due to a lack of any evidence, the allegations of domestic violence against Rep Lauren Boebert are unfounded and the investigation into Rep. Lauren Boebert is closed," authorities stated.

As per two affidavits made public on Wednesday, half of the six charges against the congresswoman’s former husband are tied to an incident at a restaurant.

During this episode, Jayson Boebert is reported to have persistently hurled expletives at the police and disregarded their orders to vacate the premises.

The remaining three charges are linked to a dispute with Boebert's teen son, Tyler, at their residence just outside Silt, Colorado.

In this occurrence, Jayson is said to have engaged in a physical altercation with Tyler, triggered by the 18-year-old's choice to let his infant sleep in a laundry basket, as stated in the affidavit.

"During the physical altercation, Jayson stuck his right-hand thumb into Tyler's mouth," read the documents.

"While Jayson dug his thumb into Tyler's mouth, Tyler felt that Jayson was going to pull his tooth out. Tyler confirmed this caused him pain."

Tyler alleged that at one point, Jayson took hold of a rifle.

Subsequently, Tyler reached out to his mother, Lauren, who advised him to dial 911.

Upon relaying the events to the authorities, the officers managed to secure an arrest warrant for Jayson on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, harassment, and third-degree assault, per TMZ.

The arrest of Lauren's ex-husband has swiftly elicited reactions from the online community.

The Rep had previously been the subject of internet mockery on two occasions - once when she was labeled an "absolute coward" for changing her congressional districts for the 2024 election.

And again when she attributed her district swap to Barbra Streisand and Ryan Reynolds. Now, with the latest development, netizens are remarking, "That whole family is a mess."

A person wrote on Facebook comment section, "That whole family is a mess. Funny tho this happens after she is accused of physically assaulting him. Hhhhmmmm. Sure seems like something fishy is going on."

Another user added, "I hope CPS is doing something to protect their children from these 2 reprehensible parents."

"Damn, I'm glad Lauren got away from that guy," stated another.

One user penned, "Delusional! Both of them."

"Just another Republican crime family," claimed a person.
