WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) a fellow GOP colleague of Colorado congresswoman Lauren Boebert, made fun at her expense at the Washington Press Club Foundation’s annual Congressional Dinner on Wednesday, January 31.

McClain, who was one of the headliners at the event, introduced herself as a “Trump-lovin’ MAGA Republican,” and proceeded to set some ground rules for the evening.

“If you could, for the speech tonight, if everyone could, please keep their hands above the table,” she remarked, adding. “And I know it’s date night for some of you, but no inappropriate touching. That includes you, Lauren Boebert. No vaping either.”

Boebert gained notoriety in September of last year after she was accused of inappropriately touching her date and vaping during a theatrical performance of ‘Beetlejuice’.

This dig at the Colorado Republican’s expense is timely as her time in the House appears to be at risk after she finished fifth in a GOP primary debate for the new district seat she is running for in the Centennial State.

How else did Michigan GOP Rep Lisa McClain humor the crowd?

As per the official website, the annual Congressional Dinner is a long-standing tradition in Washington that brings together Capitol Hill and the media for an evening of light-hearted entertainment, diverting from partisan politics and contemporary issues.

Wednesday’s event featured prominent political figures such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senator Raphael Warnock, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and House Republican Nancy Mace, per a report by Newsweek.

Despite being an election denier, Rep Lisa McClain continued to make jokes throughout the event.

In one of her digs, she glibly thanked Congressman George Santos (R-N.Y.), who was booted from Congress due to his dishonesty, for being an "Oscar winner, an Emmy winner, and a two-time Olympian."

Additionally, she asked Representative Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) not to pull the fire alarm, referencing an incident that occurred during a House session last year.

It is worth noting that Rep McClain introduced the resolution to censure the Democrat congressman from New York.

During the event, McClain warned the event organizer, the Washington Press Club Foundation, to keep an eye on the gold necklaces and silverware, insinuating that Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), who was present at the event and has been accused of accepting gold bars as bribes, has “got a few legal bills to pay.”

Rep. McClain's comment on Lauren Boebart pertains to an event that occurred in Denver, Colorado, on September 10.

Rep Boebert, accompanied by a male companion, had attended a musical performance of ‘Beetlejuice’, during which they were repeatedly vaping and publically engaging in distasteful antics.

Following the incident, footage emerged of Boebert and the man engaging in inappropriate behavior, which she later apologized for.

Reports indicate that the couple's actions and Boebert's vaping elicited complaints from other theater patrons, allegations that the Republican representative denied before the video evidence surfaced.

The couple was eventually escorted out of the theater.

Boebert apologized later by saying, "The past few days have been difficult and humbling, and I'm truly sorry for the unwanted attention my Sunday evening in Denver has brought to the community. While none of my actions or words as a private citizen that night were intended to be malicious or meant to cause harm, the reality is they did and I regret that."

She continued, "There's no perfect blueprint for going through a public and difficult divorce, which over the past few months has made for a challenging personal time for me and my entire family. I've tried to handle it with strength and grace as best I can, but I simply fell short of my values on Sunday. That's unacceptable, and I'm sorry.”
